las vegas, san francisco, l.a., san diego, phoenix, the west is hot.'m not just talking about temperature. we also saw impressive double-digit gains in atlanta, detroit, seattle, miami. it's no coincidence we're seeing the biggest increases in areas that were hardest hit by the housing collapse. now this is where we need to use some caution, in places like nevada, home prices appear to be heating up, because only a combination of tight inventory and pent up demand as well as a lot of homes that are still tied up in the home foreclosure process. new homes are being constructed to meet all of the demand. what happens in demand doesn't keep increasing along with supply, some markets might be setting themselves up for another housing bubble. construction is humming at mountain's edge, a housing development miles away from the vegas strip. sales are up 26%, making it one of the fastest selling planned communities in the country. sales jumps 29% in sin city. how do explain new home construction if there are so many empty homes waiting for new owners? plain o
