and they're some of the highest methane emitters in the world, especially russia and venezuela. so there is that reason to, instead of trading limitations on our production in the united states and allowing the continuation of production and sales of russian, iranian oil, we ought to make serious effort to enforce the sanctions. that's maybe a radical idea, but if we are really serious about doing damage to the russian economy, the only thing they got left to support that economy and support the war is oil. oil and gas sales. a lot of that is going to china at reduced prices, below-market prices. one of the consequences of that is that china has been enabled to compete in the manufacturing sector. look at the chemicals industry. china has grown exponentially in production of chemicals. they are the a big exporter of chemicals now. a decade ago, two decades ago, our shale revolution started in the united states from all the german chemical companies were coming to the united states because of the cheap -- especially gas, the feedstock of choice in the u.s. now there is only china
