the drilling platform is located just about 52 miles from venice on louisiana's tip. you can see it here on our map. the latest we get from jennifer hale of our affiliate wbe in new orleans. jennifer, what do we know? >> reporter: we got good news for you this afternoon, about an hour ago, local officials confirmed the 12 missing workers have been located, so very good news, folks across the coast here in louisiana breathing a huge sigh ofie leaf. what happened was when they evacuated that rig they got into a loaf boat that had a capsule on top of it, the emergency trigger shot that capsule pretty far out from the rig and basically it started drifting and no one knew where it was so all night, all morning, rescue crews by plane, helicopter and boat had been searching for that capsule. the good news, it's been located and everyone aboard is safe. just to recap, around 10:00 last night, this oil rig had an explosion rip through its surface. that sent the 126 workers on that rig scrambling for safety, many jumped into the water to try and escape massive flames. right now
