ventures, as well? is that right? >> correct. >> obviously you invest -- intel capital more broadly invests in all companies. now we're seeing quite a few women-led venture capital and angel investment firmsprouting up and only investing in women. do you think that's the right approach? they're not breaking into top-tier vc firms. if that say, it doesn't solve that problem. >> it doesn't solve the diversity problem of the investor group. that does need to be solved. again, you recruit and invest out of your networks. so if the nors are homogenous asian or causecasian males you expect that. we need to break into the private venture firm. i think it's good that more women are starting their own funds. female entrepreneurs are going to feel more comfortable, have more empathy regarding the markets they're pursuing. women and minority entrepreneurs aren't part of the status quo. they're focussed on underserved markets. and you need people that are empathetic to that. investors that are minority or women are going to get. it the story will rhett night with them. >> the earlier pattern recognition, pattern matching, it's a very real thing within the venture capital world. how you sort of taking

firm. >> let's talk about young women. a very important issue when you see who gets money to start businesses. the numbers are staggering. companies led by women that get venture capitalevenue than male-led companies. this is a statistic from just recently. 400,000 businesses were started by women in 2011 2012 twice as many as men. yet, only 3% of venture capital funding between 2011 and 2013. 3% went to companies with a female ceo. katia, where's the disconnect? >> it comes down to something very similar. right now, a lot of entrepreneurs and a lot of start-ups are really building businesses for themselves. so when women are building companies, often, they're thinking of themselves as an end consumer. and as we all know women are responsible for most of the purchase decisions in a household. it's a very important consumer to consider. however, if you're building a business geared towards a woman buyer and you are pitching that business to a male investor it is very hard for that to resonate. and you have to learn very quickly, when you're fund-raising to shift from what you would typically do which is walk them through the consumer journey, to quickly talking about t

venture capital? how does it correct? >> you have a big problem. you'll see a lot of acquisitions including private equity firmsns on the companies that are close to cash flow break even. you will see companies fail or companies merge or get acquired for scrap. i don't think we are in this situation where it will be that dramatic, that quickly. probably will be a bubble deflation rather than a bubble burst. if you are an investor in venture capital funds and seeing huge paper returns, i've got to be banging your head against the wall that almost none are going public. we'll get two more next week. that is a small number compared to what's sitting in the pipeline. >> does anybody look at twitter and say maybe we should wait a few years to see if these are sustainable business eses? probably not silicon valley but me in new york who are september cal of twitter? this company is worth $15 billion six months ago and now worth $25 and could be worth less than that. >> it could and could go back up to $15. there is this argument the public markets are smarter than the private markets. not really. they yo-yo more. twi
