becoming this gentry fied, vip sort of catering venue we've seen all over the country. i think that's because the sports industry has figured out how to extract profits from a more affluent crowd in the american society, right? we see this even in the designs of stadiums. stadium capacities have gotten smaller. they're taken up by premium seating or luxury seats. working class fans who might be able to get in now. i think there are exceptions. i think soccer stadiums are more democratically constituted but that's because the soccer industry in the united states is behind the nfl and mlb and other big sporting leagues that we see today. i want to think because what we see in the history of stadiums in this country are public pushback that's resulted in the democracies of society. i suspect because the sport industry relies on the labor of marginalized people, the concession workers, parking workers, the athletes themselves are affluent, but not all of them. not the college athletes. i imagine there would be some shifting of the space, but i think that's contingent on us.
