here's veronica. >> thanks, veronica and pat. at reagan national airport, but the bigger story is the storms coming into the area. a severe storm watch. areas of frederick county in maryland t. louding, alba marl county, and look at the counties shaded in orange? fact, we've got some that continue down here. look at this tremendous amount of lightning. even further south now, down south and east of charlottesville area, all moving east and slightly to the northeast, to quantico, you may see some moderate rain, but for stafford, for king george county until 4:30, severe thunderstorm warning. also the potential for small hail, but the bigger threat will be that of these hard downpours, frequent lightning, and with any of these, that means low visibility on area roads. we're seeing another batch just south of annapolis, moving east over the bay. for us, from now until 9:00, the threat of severe weather, and then after that, some more showers will continue until the cold front moves through. look at the heat out there, 88 right now,

veronica johnson has your first forecast. veroni veronica? >> evening rain, early night rain that is what we are going to see. take a look behind me, it is gray, gloomy, the clouds have thinged up, of course, today and lowered. looking south down toward the water. you can see all the monuments in the distance. as we look south on storm four radar, areas south and off to the west, we have scattered heavy rain and thunderstorms. around locus dale and charlottesville, all this is freshing off to the north and northeast. that soon will be hitting areas around i-95, car rollin county, quantico getting red, fredericksburg, too. another cluster of some heavy rain that will be heading northeastward toward i-81, more of that sitting back to the west, western portions of virginia and areas of eastern west virginia. as far as rain, many neighborhoods saying a quarter of an inch of rain, some close to an inch. martinsburg. any of those storms that are back to the west could deliver brief, heavy rain so you could be getting an additional quarter to maybe
