veronica, thank you so much for being here. it is sort of as a parent, hard to imagine a child, a young person, being out on the streets all alone. sadly, though, you see it so often in san francisco. do we know how many young people are currently, you know, don't have a place to sleep at night? >> yeah, we do. according to the latest san francisco point and time count, it there are about 1100 people sleeping on our streets or shelter in any given night in san francisco. >> that is really a staggering number. are we seeing that number increase? >> actually, the number has decreased since we started counting youth, specifically, since the last point in time count in 2017, we've seen a 10% reduction in youth homelessness. the progress is being made specifically on the youth issue. >> what do you think is behind that decrease? >> one of the things we know is increasing funding. the city of san francisco has increased their investment in about 13%. we've seen a 10% increase during that time period. >> that's obviously great to see
