veronica johnson is here with a first look at our weekend weather forecast. >> it was gorgeous today. here now this evening, take a look at the temperatures, what's going on across the area. we have a lot of neighborhoods in the 60s already, but clouds are moving in. talking about areas around clarksburg. again, clouds are moving in. and this is a as soon as possible shot of 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. you can see the isolated showers that continue. and in our weekend forecast, some thunderstorms. some of which could be pretty nasty. coming up, i'll show you when those storms move in and just how bad that will be. >> cleanup is underway tonight in florida after a tornado hit a small airport. several planes and hangars were damaged. the ef-0 tornado also hit a nearby apartment complex, but nobody was hurt. >>> it will be a weekend of picking up the pieces on virginia's eastern four. forecasters say it was an ef-1 with winds up to 100 miles per hour. the governor toured the campground when campers, tents and trees were still mangled and twisted. >> luckily, i think most people were up.

veronica johnson has a first look at the forecast. >> tomorrow is expected to be the hottest day in over a week. on top of that, this time tomorrow we could have ongoing storms still bringing damaging gusts to the area as well as frequent rain and lightning. on the radar now, not much going on. we are seeing isolated showers. radar likely to be busy as late as 11:00 p.m. tomorrow and as early as 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow. it is a weather alert day. we'll be on the air doing frequent updates throughout the afternoon and evening for you. in a couple of minutes i will show you where i think which neighborhoods will be hit with the worst storms tomorrow. >> a busy road in fort washington is back open after a deadly crash are. chopper 4 flew over the scene along indian head highway near old fort road. the crash involved at least two vehicles. one person died. paramedics rushed the second victim to the hospital. police are investigating what caused the accident. >> a police officer shot a man inside a bank today. six employees were there to watch it all go downment police say donovan bayton w

let's go to storm team 4 meteorologist veronica johnson and find out what we can expect tomorrow morning. vj? >> yeah, things are calming tomorrow morning. as promised, a weather alert day. storms between 6:00 and 10:00 have plotted upward most of our reports for trees down and hail. you can see all of those dots there indicated the last report down to the south king george county that wind report, close to 50 mile per hour wind gust there. but again, this line is all heading south an east away from our area. tremendous amount of lightning in maryland's eastern shore right now. some folks around prince george's county, tell meg they are seeing that in the distance. with you the last rain right now, down through areas of the northern neck and moving away. so tomorrow morning, again, as promised, lower temperatures, cooler air. patchy fog, you're still going to need that umbrella. in a couple minutes, tell you how long the cooler air will be sticking around. >> thanks, veronica. family and friends are a d.c. woman are sleeping easier tonight. the month-long manhunt for a killer is poefrp u

storm team 4 meteorologist veronica johnson is here with more details on the twister that hit the campground. >> yeah guys, this was all a product of the weather front, same front that moved through our area many the early morning hours. right along and south. the air was volatile. it was enough to produce spin. this whole area east of williamsburg, virginia. that pocket of south eastern virginia. these storms made their way around cherrystone. now confirmation in the area from wakefield weather service, this was an ef 1 tornado. winds were 86 to 110 miles per hour based on their survey. this is a shot of the radar this morning. this is a tremendous amount of lightning with the storm. what we're seeing now throughout, still fierce storms. moving east of richmond, once again williamsburg and wakefield. they're about to get pounded under a severe thunderstorm warning. it's not far from where there was that tornado this morning. probably high winds coming once again. fortunately in the cape charles area for us just seeing showers now. a big difference in temperatures from the 100 degrees plus a

meteorologist veronica johnson got the latest update at the to. >> the latest. we remain under a severe thunderstorm watch in so much of the area. the worst came through between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. today. a handful of power outages. a report out of king georges county of a waterspout in the state park. now, look at the area that remains under a severe thunderstorm watch from frederick, maryland to winchester, charlottesville and everywhere east of the blue ridge still could get high winds and isolated hail. with the other storm that is come through ahead of the weather front, we could see flash flooding. yeah, there were some flooded roads that i saw. part of the issue, of course, is we have so much debris from the storms earlier this week. flash flood watch to prince williams county, fairfax until 10:00 p.m. the area is under a severe thunderstorm warning. all the heavy rain that was once over the area headed to maryland's eastern shore. seeing the worst of it. still some lightning here and heavy rain. what we are waiting on is what's off to the west. what is go

let's go to veronica johnson in the weather center for the latest. >> we are still tracking the line. it is going to be with us some time this evening and from that line we could see many more severe thunderstorm warnings issue. ed to see where it is. from our area up into pap pa. they have had warnings of their own there. the warning that still is up right now. up to the north of us. includes areas of the northern frederick county maryland right now. right on into areas of the persville. this cell headed east southeast to areas like perserville. leesburg by 6:42. germantown, gaithersburg by 6:45 to 6:57. and eventually what we're seeing on the south portion of this line with some lightning, i think by 7:30, 7:40 it steps into areas like fairfax. other areas into d.c. where we could see winds as well. up until about 9:00 in this zone and up until 11:00 we could see thunderstorms fire around waldorf, annapolis, and cambridge. we're at 93 now. partly sunny turning over to thunderstorm activity. and storms at 9:00, 10:00. showers at 11:00. we move from 93 with the heat index around 100 d
