in this grant, the department of veterans affairs requires that the program target underserved veterans. they're considered those that are other than honorably discharged, lgbtq, women, students. san francisco county veteran service will collaborate with swords to employee shares to provide formal and informal outreach to veterans. outreach will focus on low-income and homeless veterans with mental health disabilities who reside in san francisco. compared nationally, san francisco has the eighth highest number of homeless veterans and third highest rate of unsheltered veterans. during the in-kind count of homeless individuals, we discovered there were 608 homeless veterans and 81% of them are unsheltered. this provides outreach to the vet center and other locations where underserved veterans seek support. they'll pilot legal clinics at the college of san francisco to reach out to the transitioning student veterans and the san francisco veterans county office will reach out to veterans sheltering in place. it's anticipated that this grant will have a dramatic impact by ensuring that more
