vianey arana is tracking the rain and your commute and vianey the people traveling on westbound -- there is a sig-alert. >> i have that sig-alert. i tracked this earlier and i'll get to that in a second. but i want to show you what the rain is doing. here is that pineapple express, for folks hearing that word a lot this week, it is like a hose. right over the bay area. if i zoom in you could see we still have pretty decent amount of moisture pushing through. san rafael and san francisco and the lighter rain but if you notice behind this, we have a couple of these yellow, red and orange cells. those bring the periods of moderate to heavy localized downpour and torrential rain and for areas in the north bay and we have the one cell right here, you could see it in petaluma. and just to give you a good idea as far as timing for the cell moving through, sonoma expect periods of moderate to heavy downpour around 5:54. tracking this for us, by 6:18 and napa and toward 6:24 tor vichy springs. but the winds are light. that will change heading into tonight and tomorrow as well. and if i take a loo

we want to follow up with vianey tracking everything. and there is a lot of color on your map. >> definitely. especially when you look at the north bay, that radar is lighting up with yellow and red hues which means we're moderate to heavy downpours. so i want to start off with the satellite radar because it paints a good picture of everything that we've been tracking and where we stand right now in terms of this storm. so you can really see, there it is, like a hose effect coming in with the atmospheric river, really kind of taking its aim now through -- the models are showing further north than what we had originally seen in the earlier models, but that will mean that the north bay, even though we had already predicted this, will be seeing the majority of the hit from the storm system but still expecting to see the widespread rain. now if i zoom in closer, you could see san francisco seeing the showers right now. dublin as well. san mateo and satellite radar showing a couple of cells pushing through santa rosa right now. we've also got

vianey and i were looking during the commercial break.nks for joining us on this sunday morning. vianey has a look at our microclimate forecast. >> we have the clouds rolling in and you can see the flag waving because a cold front is set to move in. we can already see that on the radar. right now half moon bay at 41 degrees and we can expect to see the milder temperatures kind of lingering around at least through the mid morning. the cloud cover will definitely be a factor today. 50 degrees in san jose. not really too windy in san jose. now across the board temperatures remain in the 40s and low 50s for most part. 42 degrees in santa rosa and 42 for napa and down near the peninsula also in the upper 50s and lower 50s. doppler radar, you can see it off no the north there and it will be sweeping from north to south eventually, kind of making its trek through and kicking showers into early tomorrow morning. tomorrow the biggest noticeable drop will be in the temperatures and i'll take you through the time line when we're xpexpectin that rain

vianey arana has a look at our microclimate forecast. another good day? >> yeah. warm weather is sticking around for your saturday and also dry conditions. we've got this nice warming and drying trend that kind of took over at the beginning of the middle of the week but right now, san francisco, 51 degrees, and we're starting to see a couple of clouds out there, but overall, expect mostly clear skies into the afternoon. temperatures in the south bay also in the 50s. hayward at 50 degrees and if you notice, even though we're in the 40s and 50s, we will be jumping into some upper 70s and some 80s for today across, especially, the interior valleys. now, san jose's temperature trend, if you notice by 10:00 a.m., will be jumping into the 60s and then quickly by 1:00, right around your lunch hour, will be jumping into the mid 70s. san jose is expected to top out in the 80s. i'll talk about how long this warming trend is expected to last coming up. >> we'll stay tuned. thanks. >>> this morning, berkeley police are looking for a man with a gun w

>> beautiful sunrise, vianey. >> beautiful sunrise. it's going to stay beautiful. we have a couple of days left for this dry weather, but the company temperatures, very springli springlike. 40s and 50s. 48 drys for the south bay, 50s for your peninsula, 40 for the tri-valley and san francisco. mostly clear skies. we've got a couple of clouds lingering here. in san francisco, we can see it here on the live cam, but we can see mostly sunny conditions. a quick check of your san francisco temperature trend. wheel climb into the 50s by 9:00 and eventually we'll start seeing a very nice climb into the 60s. now, right now we're not seeing a lot of active weather, but we do have our storm ranger and it is up and scanning currently in our parking lot. we'll eventually move this to a better location because we're tracking an incoming system and the system is looking like an atmospheric river event. that means all the models are aligning and it's going bring moisture with anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of rain for the system. i want to show you this shot. one of the current conc

let's check in with vianey arana, see exactly how long this round is going to last. >> if you notice, it's not a big rainmaker, this storm system. it's more of a colder system. as far as rain totals go, anywhere between a tenth and quarter of an inch is expected which is why there are rather light to moderate showers pushing through. we're seeing a lot of showers that pushed through the north bay and sfraean francisco start to trek further south. wind speeds, gusty winds of 30-plus miles per hour reported for areas in the north bay along the mountain peak, so keep that in mind. it's a good idea to tie down patio furniture. downtown san jose, this is what it's look like now. you can expect to see showers start to trek in into the overnight hours. we'll see a lot of moisture remaining in an unsettled weather pattern that will continue to keep the showers in the forecast. at least through tomorrow afternoon. here's a quick look right now where those showers are pushing through. we've got some light showers in san francisco right now. hayward, nice light showers as well. oakland seeing so
