let's check in with vianey arana with a look at our weekend forecast. >> yeah.nd while most folks are seeing clear skies along the peninsula, half moon bay area, dense fog this early morning. so definitely be careful as you're getting ready to hit the road out there. here's a shot overlooking half moon bay using our weather underground sky cam. 50 degrees now. it's not too cold but compare that to this shot. woodside, looking absolutely clear and stunny as well. we are expecting a nice, little warm-up. but right now, we are seeing quite a different picture in various microclimates, right? all right. south bay right now, partly cloudy skies, waking up to about 52 degrees. the peninsula you can see fog along there. 50 degrees, 45 degrees in the tri-valley. mostly clear in the tri-valley. definitely seeing that buildup of that fog. east bay right now, a nice 52 degrees. san francisco 52. and the north bay, 45 degrees. so we are seeing a combination of partly cloudy and very dense fog. doppler radar now showing that fog building right along the coastline. so that me

vianey arana is tracking this snow for us.not just the sierra getting blasted with snow, we are seeing some in the bay area. >> yeah. more along the mountain areas, as you were saying in lake tahoe, lake tahoe saw 13 inches of snow, and rose saw over 20 inches of snowfall over the past couple of hours. we have a chance of seeing one, two, three inches more. right now waking up temperatures, 42 degrees in the hayward area, 44. half moon bay, 46. san francisco, 45 degrees. doppler dar right now is showing some activity. over the next half hour, expect san jose to see some rain in the forever cas forecast. right now just overcast skies. we do still have a chance of seeing some snow flurries in the santa cruz mountains. we will keep an eye on that. we have a crew out there. higher elevation areas have flue next couple of hours we will start seeing snow chances go down. however there is still a winter storm warning that will remain in effect through the 10:00 a.m. hour, that's because there are still dangerous driving conditions, w

let's turn to the forecast of v vianey arana. >> the lake tahoe area did see about 26 inches of snowfall in the past 24 hours. however, in tahoe northstar, they saw 26 inches in the past 48 hours and 27 degrees. we're actually seeing a few skiers and snowboarders out there, and i know you're wondering when that warmup will come. yes, we are still in the 40s and 50s for the most part. 43 in palo alto, but there are some changes on the way. doppler radar still showing a few lingering showers, and we are expecting these showers to begin to clear out and taper off by the evening, but as that cold front makes exit, high pressure will begin to build in tomorrow, and that's going to bring a change in those temps. today we will be topping out in the 50s over the next couple hours. here's a look at what you can expect. by about 5:00, 6:00, we'll start to see more sunshine in there. that's a look ahead. yes, we are expecting 70s toward the pliddmiddle of the week. we're talking about a drying trend and when we're expecting it coming up in just 50 minutes. back to you. >>> now a live look at tahoe

vianey arana, set the stage for us as we head into the weekend and this is going to continue, beautiful techl tours. kswao matter how warm we get that water stays very cold. hazy skies, calming as you mentioned. 62 already in the south bay. and 60 in san francisco right now, but as you head into the weekend and today also, kicking off the weekend, we will be warming up very nicely into the upper 6 0s and mid 70s. here's a quick check of your saturday forecast. 9:00 a.m., very similar to what we saw today, in the 50s and during your lunch hour we're warming up at about 67 degrees inlapped, 63 towards the bay, partly cloudy skies, by 3:00 that's when things really warm up to about 64 degrees and 73 degrees for inland areas. by dinner time, at about 7:00 p.m., we cool down just a bit into the 50s. 54 degrees and 60 for inland areas. we do start seeing some breezy conditions along the coast lined. so, it's definitely shaping up to be a lovely weekend ahead. i hope you all take advantage of the weekend. coming up i will have a closer look at sunday and the next seven days and when we're expe

vianey a arana joining us now. things looking beautiful so far. >> they really are. we did start very cool this morning in the 30s and the 40ss and now we're about cool at 56 degrees in the peninsula, 59 in the south bay, and 59 in the tri-valley. but yes, today is going to be a very sunny day. we should be ending the workweek with plenty of sunshine. but we do have some changes on the way although today we are expecting these 50s to climb into the 60s over the next couple of hours. paired with that sunshine expect to see mid temps in the 60s at about 4:00. i'll have about 60 degrees expected in the san jose area. and, yes, we are tracking a cold front that is expected to bring rain to the bay area on saturday morning. but i'll have a closer look at that time line and exactly how much rainfall we're expecting coming up at about 11:16. >> all right. well, this tower water shooting more than 70 feet into the sky, that's pretty high after a crash shoot up water hydrant on the peninsula. we brought you this as breaking news earlier this morning. that guyser led to some f
