vianey arana is there with our forecast. what had morning. what a sight for sore eyes that was. >> i know. good morning. that is one of my favorite live views of the golden gate bridge, especially when the skies are so clear. we do have some areas of low cloud cover, but the sunshine is really going to be dominating today and it is going to warm us up significantly. let's take a live look over san jose right now. we start to get a welcoming site there. and our current temperatures currently at about 57 degrees for san jose. this is actually kind of starting to get really warm. we will warm up very quickly today. you will notice it because look at the temperature difference. so between now and the 50s and 1:00 will be at 79. by 2:00, we're expected to be in the 80 degree mark. expect to hit a high of 82, 83. a normal high for this time of year is 70 degrees. we're certainly feeling above normal with a hint of summer in there. plenty of sunshine. how long is this heat going to last? that answer coming up in 15 minutes. >> all right. see you the

vianey arana in for kari this morning. ey, it is going to be another warm one for us. >>> whether you're inside or in your backyard we have a great forecast scheduled for you. now let me take a look at the daytime highs. micro climate highs, your predicted highs, 80 degrees in san jose, 75 for oakland. palo alto also topping into the 80s. and in the city we're going to be at about 68 degrees. normally around this time of year we're still in the 60s, so we're about ten degrees in some areas above normal. now let's get right to the next seven days. i want to break down what's happening. today is wednesday, thursday into friday we'll keep that dry weather pattern and we're going to remain fairly warm but by friday and saturday we start to see a change in the forecast. temperatures begin to cool down and we have an approaching weather system expected to make its arrival late sunday night bringing the chance of a couple showers not just for us but also the southern california areas. if you have family down there, they might be t

vianey arana joins us from home with a look at our micro climate forecast. it got hot yesterday, didn't it? vianey, you have a little bit of a break for some of us. >> it did. >>> yeah, just a little bit. we were in the upper 80s and felt the heat there. today will be a warm day but we are going to cool off a little bit. so far more cloud cover compared to yesterday. right to the fog and visibility. we're getting reports limited visibility through half moon bay and even up to santa rosa, down to a mile in visibility. if you do, for whatever reason, essential reason, you have to drive out to those areas just remember to slow it down as we head in towards the afternoon we'll get some clearing there and more sunshine. we are seeing some areas of cloud cover. look at the sunshine taking over all day long right around 9:00 a.m. cloud cover will turn mostly sunny and our temperature is around 69, 70 degrees. we're going to be slightly warmer than average but slightly cooler as well. so how long will this last and when are we going to see the warm-up? >> we'll see y

there's vianey arana, who joins us this morning from home as we are under a micro climate weather alert. and, oh, vianey, it was pouring on my drive in this morning. >>> oh, yeah, we're going to see the heavier rain. good morning, kira. how are you? >> good, how are you? >> good, good. i'm tracking this micro climate weather alert. the rain will be more intense and we'll get a chance of thunderstorms as well. let's take a look at the current temperature in san jose. 53 degrees. as you saw with the live pic, we're seeing some of the rain. take a look at satellite radar. as i mentioned the majority of areas south of the golden gate bridge, not going to expect too much rain. it's a cold front and you can see how active the radar is. i'm zooming this in closer. you can see we have good pockets of rain pushing through gilroy, santa cruz, the peninsula, and even up to the north bay as well. we're going to keep the period of rain at times throughout the entire day today, and here's just a couple things we're monitoring for the next 24 hours. rain at times, a quarter of an inch to half an inch.
