let's check in with meteorologist vianey arana . >> i have seen minions. right now in san jose we do have a beautiful sunrise store. i know it feels warmer and it is . we are in the 60s to start. it is the upper 60s right now in fremont. look at the past 24 hour temperature change. we are 12 degrees warmer. even down to san jose. satellite and radar right now did help the system to the pacific northwest that brought a little bit of a drizzle around the coastline. and we still see the cloud cover early this morning. we will start to get some clearing into the afternoon. the wind gusts right now are pretty calm . if i fast-forward until 4:00 we will get the gusty winds at times. it is in three areas like concord and livermore. through the day, things will get dry in the fire danger really kicks in the forecasted high will be 81 in san jose. look at the east bay temperatures. there is quite a range. it is upper 70s in redwood city. after the northbay the lower 80s are in the forecast. look at this seven-day outlook. it will be noticeable for the inland areas.

the vianey arana has extended this air quality advisory . we reported on this yesterday.d it through tomorrow because concerns of the oak fire which is burning in mariposa county. incidentally, as a result of the oak fire and other wildfires in recent years, california has some of the worst air quality in the country. according to the air-quality life index put up by the energy policy institute at the university of chicago, this report found in 2020, 19 california counties ranked in the top 20 nationwide for the most polluted counties. none of the counties were in the bay area. they were in the sierra foothills and the central valley. california's central valley comedy particulate pollution levels, they found that they exceeded national and international standards. here is a great visual as to why. on the left side you can see satellite photo of the oak fire. that is from friday. on the right side you see yesterday and you can see a long plume of smoke traveling north for hundreds of miles in the sierra nevada. law enforcement and firefighters have told hundreds of people

. >>> meteorologist vianey arana is joining us. the air-quality something you watch very closely. >> absolutely. the change in the wind could smoke blow in our direction or away from us. traps particles at the service level. that plays a role in the air- quality. as we inch closer to the weekend, temperatures heat up as high pressure continues and that's important to play into when it comes to air quality. let's talk about the fire conditions and the impact this will have. look at the temperature trend. one thing unfortunately working against us is how dry we are. there is a bit of a breeze from the southwest at 14 miles per hour. we will see temperatures bump up into the upper 80s and 90s. as of right now, the air- quality forecast for today according to the air-quality management district, from the north bay to the south bay, it's good but there is an advisory in place because the air-quality can change, you know, in just one little area depending on the direction of the winds. even though it may be good in the north bay or san f

meteorologist vianey arana is here and it is a stunning satellite imagery we were seeing a moment ago how big the impact the smoke is having. >> it really is, shows how big the severe fire weather is an that is air that is going vertically, and as far as impacts go in the bay area, we will be seeing hazy skies making their return as the upper air smoke moves west. a lot of the impact will be higher above, not necessarily at the surface so while you may see that smoke high above, you may not feel it or smell it. keep those windows close because the direction of the wind lays a role in this as well. as far as the oak fire weather outlook, no improvements. we have seen pretty much no recovery in the humidity overnight. the winds remained breezy through the afternoon and even the overnight temperatures were in the 60s and 70s. today's daytime highs will be the mid-80s and that low humidity continues, and with dry conditions that will be always an area of concern throughout the entire state of california as we remain under in extreme drought. no more to the local forecast in a few minutes,
