let's start with meteorologist vianey arana and vianey. a lot of areas getting hit really hard right now. certainly. and you mentioned those severe thunderstorm warnings. and this is our mobile doppler radar storm ranger i'm going to zoom this in because we do have a severe thunderstorm warning that was just issued for san mateo county and santa clara county. now this will be in place until about 445. but of course, we had severe thunderstorm warnings as well for areas in the north bay and san francisco. now those have since expired, but we're keeping a close eye because we're seeing an intensity in that line of showers that's moving through. but also gusty winds play a big role in this, and i want to zoom in and show you the picture of where we're seeing that rain and kind of what we're noticing on radar here. notice we've still got some light to moderate rain coming down in the north bay. but if i zoom this in a bit closer to areas around orinda, you'll notice that we've got some heavier pockets as well. moving through oakland right alon

meteorologist vianey arana is here in vianey.esterday i was out there talking to folks and they said they're concerned about thursday because that's when the next storm could potentially hit. and even though, you know, this next storm isn't going to bring as much rainfall as far as totals, because we got so much rain, especially for areas in the north bay. and you see there the possibility for land failure, there is going to be extreme saturation in a lot of zones. so there's still a possibility where we could run into some issues. so i do want to get to the timing of that. and what we're seeing right now. now notice on satellite radar, we do have of course, the sunshine for today. i'm going to zoom this in a bit closer so you can see what we're monitoring so far. right now we've still got some precipitation really far to the north. and then of course we do have some rain now coming down in southern california near the la area. so if you're traveling down there for the next couple of hours, check the travel conditions along the g

let's bring in our meteorologisist, vianey arana a. wow. we got sucker punch today. i felt like it just came out of nowhere. it was so nice yesterday. and then bam! we've had a lot of rain. that first half of today certainly packed a punch. we, you know, added to the rain totals that we've seen so far. we do still have some concerns for the north bay, just based on saturation as far as the possibility of some downed trees and things like that because of the wind speeds. so i do want to get to where the rain is now, janelle, and what we can expect in the next couple of hours. now, keep in mind, if you live in the north bay, there is still a flood, you know, concern there. but also we've got those gusty winds that we've seen. and if you look at our storm ranger scanning the skies here, i'm going to zoom this in a bit closer so we can kind of see where the rain is right now we do have some light showers moving through san rafael. novato notice starting to move their way east into areas like concord and coming down in walnut creek, san ramon. and then of course, we've go

and let's bring in our meteorologist vianey arana. getting gusty out there too is pretty windy when i came into work today, and it's going to be wet for the next 24 hours. it will. and that will pick up rain wise heading into tonight, but also into your tuesday evening as well. so i do want to get right to where the rain is now, where it's headed and what we're monitoring out in the pacific. take a look at satellite radar. you can see that moisture tap there with the arrival of this atmospheric river. now notice a lot of that precipitation still to our north. if i tap in our mobile doppler radar storm ranger, you can see a lot of that rain still mainly to the north, right up here, zooming this a bit closer into parts of santa rosa and sonoma. now keep in mind this area already got a decent amount of rainfall over the weekend, so one thing that will definitely be monitoring, in addion to how much rain and the timing is going to be the flood watches, because we've already got extreme saturation in some of those areas, especially for the

meteorologist vianey arana joins us now with our extended forecast. hey candice.t looks like right now. live in san francisco. we're at about 53 degrees now. the first thing that you're going to notice tonight before that next rain arrives, is going to be a drop in temperatures. this next system is a colder one. so we could even get some lower elevation snow heading into that thursday forecast. now keep in mind rain totals will be less than what we saw earlier this week, but even so, we'll get periods of rain on and off throughout your thuday and also some scattered activity heading into that friday morning forecast. good news though, it looks like by saturday and sunday, even for inland areas, we're going to get some clearing skies and that's going to leave our temperatures maxing out in those upper 50s. but we're going to see some frost advisories go into effect starting tonight, especially for the interior and those wind sheltered valleys. so definitely bundle up and keep that umbrella handy, at least for tomorrow anyway. i'll send it back to you. thanks for th
