vic lee is live from the crime scene. vic? >> we saw a lot of cops here in the neighborhood today and they were obviously looking for two things, body parts and videotape. yesterday they thought they had a videotape that showed the suspect, and they briefly detained three men in this neighborhood based on that description. since then they have eliminated that particular video. they have at least one other video which may show the actual suspect. >> police were back this morning combing through garbage bins in the neighborhood where the body parts were found. yesterday shortly after 4:00 in the afternoon officers responded to a call about a suspicious package in front of good will industries on 11th street near mission. they found a suitcase inside a headless torso. then a homeless man pointed them to a set of garbage bins at nearby firestone tires. inside one of them a bag containing a leg. officers were looking for the other body parts. they were also going to businesses looking for security video. among them the one from out

here's reporter vic lee. >> reporter: the car was rented from the hertz office here on main street in, three identified members of a gang were shot at close range in their parked stolen car on laguna and page street. police say that their executioners likely used four guns and took off before police arrived. sources tell us the suspect's car was returned to hertz early this week. san francisco police later took possession of it. they asked hertz to call them if the person who rented the car came back. on wednesday morning a possible sighting of some of the suspects resulted in the search of a neighborhood in walnut creek. two men and a women came to the hertz office asking for another rental. an employ' notified san francisco police that he thought one of them was the person they were looking for. at the request of san francisco, walnut creek police, using k9s responded while homicide officials were on their way. one fled on foot as officers arrived, lead to go the search of the area. two nearby schools were locked down. police found him hiding in a garbage bin near contra costa schoo

abc 7 news reporter vic lee is live in santa rosa with the latest. >> reporter: you're right, there isl a question over motive but the good news is the story started out bad but ended well. this is the school in santa rosa and victoria valdez is a fifth grader waáu#here. this morning she walked out of the school by herself and disappeared for two and a half hours. it was shortly after 8:00 this morning when 10-year-old victoria valdez asked her teacher if she could go to the bathroom. she did not return. her teacher alerted school administrators. a search of the school yielded nothing. at 8:30 they notified santa rosa police. more than a dozen officers with the help of the sheriff's helicopter searched for the missing 10-year-old. they fanned out to nearby neighborhoods and businesses and the homes of relatives, to make sure a family member did not abduct her. nothing panned out until they activated their reverse 911 system. >> we can call residents and businesses in the neighborhood to alert them of the missing juvenile and we also used our social media sites to alert the public that
