. >> director reiskin, before you do that, director brinkman, vice-chair brinkman would like to make a statement about this. >> i attended the rally on the steps of city hall before this meeting that was the advocates coming together. and as bond mentions, the advocates working with us to forward pedestrian safety in this city. so, with the concurrence of my fellow directors, i'd like to ask staff to bring a resolution to us for support of vision zero and mayor lee's safety campaign to our board for approval. we play a major role in ensuring that pedestrians can safely walk the streets in san francisco and we're committed to the goal of zero lives lost, one life lost is too many, and the recent spate of injuries and deaths has affected everybody deeply and has been far too many. so, i think this resolution will show our support for a city-wide effort that deserves to be discussed. >> thank you, vice-chair. we'll ask director reiskin to come back with such a resolution. >> okay, absolutely. and i think that is timely because while i think there have been a lot of good steps made over

spoke and especially supervisor kim for coming through and passing on your message, as well as vice-chair brinkman for suggesting that we adopt vision zero. i'm also very supportive of it. looking forward to that discussion when it comes in february. my concern is a greater sense of urgency if at all possible. there was a mention of a crisis response team or an intervention team. if there is any chance that we can actually do something to that effect before we even get there. i know that there's a lot of support for visions and statements of support and plans and strategies. as a pedestrian in safe, i feel like i do take my life into my hands every day i step into a street in the city. i can't imagine what it must be like to not have your loved ones come home. especially in a situation where we can fix that. we can change that. i'm hoping with the sense of support that we're hearing from the supervisors and maybe from the ta that there might be something that we can do in true response, crisis response fashion, putting together a team and responding with some concrete solutions that we can do -- t
