vicky, good morning. it's good to see you.ing today? >> hey, good morning, kasie. really good to be with you. you're going to hear testimony from a lot of people who have been active in the asian american community over the past year, really trying to combat the rise in anti-asian sentiment. senator tammy duckworth from illinois will testify along with congresswoman judy chu and grace meng. one of the notable speakers today is someone you probably don't know her name. it's one of the co-founders of stop aapi hate. that is a non-profit in california that's been providing one of the most comprehensive looks at what's been going on over the past year, because they've been tracking data. they just released a new report showing that over a 12-month period, starting last march, anti-asian incidents that were reported numbered nearly 4,000. they also found that 68% of those attacks were verbal. but a full 11% were some sort of physical violent confrontation. and these are reports coming from all 50 states and the district of columbia

i'm vicki liviakis said i'm grant lotus a trio of local counties taking another step forward in the state's plan to safely reopen the economy, improving coronavirus numbers are feeling that san francisco moran and santa clara counties under the less restrictive orange tier. they join san mateo county as the only for bay area counties in the moderate tier for coronavirus restrictions. and that means more businesses can reopen and those already open can expand services. it's all good. just keep it going. here's a look at the changes that come with the orange tier indoor dining can expand to 50% capacity. retail stores and shopping malls can operate at full capacity places of worship in movie theaters can bump it up to 50% capacity. 25% capacity is now allowed for indoor gyms wineries, breweries and distilleries bars can open outdoors in the orange tier and offices are allowed to bring back employees with certain restrictions now business owners impacted by the shutdown say they look forward to hiring back staff and other benefits at the orange should to your cough or across force. theresa sta
