(vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis... we first start with chief meteorologist lawrence karnow... he has been tracking this storm all day...(grant) lawrence how is looking for the morning commute? lawrence karnow: heavy rain continues across the bay area. flash flood watches have been posted across most of the north bay. the areas that experienced fires are of biggest concern. more heavy rain is expected thoughout the night and could lead to rapid rises in small stream and creeks leading to flash flooding. mudslides area also a major concern in the burn area especially. debris flows are also a possibility. gusty winds will accompany the storm this evening. gusts of 50 mph or higher are also possible near the coast and over the mountains. downed trees and power lines are likely during this storm. as the storm moves through there is also a chance of thunderstorms. heavy rain will turn to showers late tonight. over 2 inches of rain has already fallen in some locations and we could see another 2 inches tonight. you can see the area of low pressure off the coast. it will come ashore ne

(vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis... lets take a live look outside at conditions along the embarcadero, at the san mateo bridge, bay bridge and check out the fog at s-f-o...(grant) we start tonight with chief meteorologist lawrence karnow.. who's been tracking the storm for days now...so lawrence you say the rain is only part of the story here? lawrence karnow: a new storm brought rain to the entire bay area. it is a much colder storm so snow levels in the bay area will drop to near 3,000 feet. that means we could see a few snow flakes on our higher peaks. showers will continue tonight with a chance of isolated thunderstorms. you can see the showers on doppler radar. they are more scattered now instead of steady rain. the wettest part of the bay area had over a half an inch of rain. on the satellite you can see the eye of the storm still spinning in the gulf of alaska. there is plenty of cold air the will rush in tonight and tomorrow. showers and chilly temperatures will continue friday with highs in the 40s and 50s. it

(vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis.... this after a woman was shot and killed.unset district... on 34-avenue and ortega street...which is typically a quiet neighborhood.(grant) kron-4's charles clifford joins us live from the scene...charles what do we know? on january 19, 2018 at approximately 4:37 pm, san francisco police responded to the 1800 block of 34th avenue on the report of a shooting victim. officers located a 65 year-old female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. aid was immediately rendered by responding officers. unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries on the scene.the suspect is currently outstanding and is considered armed and dangerous. the suspect has been identified as 67 year-old winston hue. he is an asian male with black hair, brown eyes, approximately 5'9", weighing 170 pounds. hue may be driving a blue kia sol with ca license plate

(j.r.)it happened around three a.m. this morning. fotunately no one was here and no one was hurt but it appears these thieves knew exactly what they were going after.tonight you can see the handyman who was busy at work installing new locks on this door to rite aid. sources tell us this burglary went down around three a.m this morning. they went on to say that the thieves took thousands in cash from the atm machine inside and the store safe. they broke into the pharmacy as well and stole perscription drugs. sources say it appears they even cut security wires here. police say no arrests have been made in the case. some customers we spoke with this evening were shocked. others said it just sounds too easy. like the bad guys knew the place too well.
