. >>> we turn for details to abc's vicki mabrey. >> thank you, diane. we have late-breaking news tonight. diplomat richard holbrooke has died at age 69 after suffering a torn aorta last week. a major figure inside the state department, holbrooke was nominated for a nobel peace prize for his work on the 1995 dayton peace accords, which ended the bloody ethnic conflict in bosnia. born in new york in 1941 to jewish immigrants, holbrooke worked as a magazine editor, professor, author and investment banker. he was a top foreign policy adviser during the presidential campaign of his boss and friend, hillary clinton. for nearly two years now, he was the obama administration special envoy for afghanistan and pakistan. he said it was, quote, the most difficult job i've had in my career. in his latest role, holbrooke traveled frequently to the region, visiting soldiers and diplomats on the ground. he to publish a comprehensive review of u.s. policy in the region later this week. holbrooke is survived by his wife, catty martin, and his two children. now, back to d

she and her family talked about their ordeal with "nightline's" vicki mabrey.ofessional help. >> there's no amount to telling her you can't have this unless you eat that. it breaks my heart when she says to me i don't want to be this way. because she's hungry. >> reporter: researchers believe that erin is not alone. that she suffers from a rare, selective eating disorder, called food neophobia, essentially a fear of food. >> we're not talking about i don't like my broccoli or peas. >> reporter: this month, dr. nancy zucker of the duke center for eating disorders, is launching an online registry for parents of picky kids. a way to collect more information on this puzzling disorder. there's already an adult version, with some 9,000 people having already signed up. people like bob krauss. >> for lunch, i might eat a pack of lance peanut butter crackers or a bag of potato chips and a glass of milk. >> reporter: the hope is as researchers learn more about this order, picky kids don't turn into picky adults. >> i really don't have a control over, saying you can't eat
