i'm vickie nguyen. >>> we are following break news. a major earthquake has triggered a tsunami warning. that a is in effect within 620 miles of the earthquake epicenter. new guinea and islands are most at risk. western hawaii islands could see effects from this quake. we'll have updates as they happen. let's bring in our meteorologist rob with perspective. >> we'll see little impact as it ripples across the central. now downgraded to 7.5 earthquake. what's interesting, around this section here the localized alerts indicate one to three foot tsunami. significant damage within 100 miles within the epicenter range. three meter r rise in sea level would be above the screen i'm in front of now. nine to ten foot rise is possible a along the coastline as those waves radiate out across the pacific. the western hawaii islands and over toward marshal island you'll see less than a foot rise and changes to local current north hawaii islands. given the track record of earthquakes of this size no alerts for the u.s. west coast. as information comes

. >> i'm vicky nguyen. >> police on alert this evening after a series of attempted kidnappings. each time the target a teenage girl walking alone. the three crimes centered near an hayward and tennyson high school. chrissy smith is live at the police department where officers have a new sketch of the suspect. what do you know about the man they're looking for? >> well, they did release that sketch. you know, this is the third incident, all of them similar. this time a teenage girl was walking home from hayward high school when a man briefly pulled her into his car. fortunately, she was able to get away. i want to show you that sketch that hayward police released to us a short time ago of the suspect in a thinly manicured beard and goatee. about. 5'6” to the 5'7” tall with short dark hair. friday around 3:45 a 16-year-old student was walking home and passed a white four-door car when suddenly the man grabbed her and pulledler into the car. he showed her a gun. there was a struggle. she fought and was able to get away. she got home. her family called 911. in february and early mar

. >> investigative reporter vicky nguyen first exposed the policy that tells employees not to call 911 first when there is a medical emergency. that's no longer the case. >> reporter: that's right. here it is in black and white. the first step in the policy now states in an emergency, anyone can call 911, instead of instructing people to call security first. it sounds so simple and obvious, but employees tell us for years the old policy led to serious delays in medical treatment. >> he worked for 28 years. everybody loved him. >> reporter: in august coworkers found postal worker sam akasha laying on his back with blood coming from his mouth and ears downed from an apparent head injury, his wife marnie. >> it's so sad because i can imagine him fighting for his life. >> we have an employee bleeding from the mouth. >> reporter: no one saw what happened to sam but coworkers reported finding him lying on the floor bleeding and unconscious sometime between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. records so 911 didn't receive a call until 3:54. >> that's an hour wasted. >> reporter: instead of calling 911 immedia
