i'm vicky nguyen. ==scott//2 shot== and i'm scott mcgrew -- sam and kris are off today. that kayaker was last seen by his friend more than 18 hours ago. scott/cu he had a flotation device in his boat.. but his friend says kenneth maldanado of san jose was not wearing a life vest when his kayak flipped over and that water is very cold. boxes joins us live from fremonts near the dumbatron bridge and pete.you just spoke with officials. what's the latest? ==pete/live== search operations resumed this morning shortly assisting with this search. now, we spoke with fremont fire, one of those agencies, and they tell us that a grid is being created around the southern part of the bay when it comes to the search for maldonado. this mission was called in as a water rescue yesterday around 4:30 p.m. by the friend of maldonado who was in the raft and in the water and turned around and noticed his kayak was upside down in the water with only a flotation device in sight. now, i want to point out the fremont fire says the kayak has been recovered. in fact, here to give us an update. >> s
