i'm vicky nguyen. vianey arana is here to look at that microforecast.s not as hot as yesterday. >> no, it's not. however, we are expecting 90s in certain parts of the interior valleys. if you're waking up this morning, temperatures are very comfortable, in the 60s in the south bay. in the north bay right now, upper 50s. as you head out the door, the 24-hour temperature change will definitely be noticed in certain areas like concord running about six degrees cooler. notice that nice marine layer. we have a nice deepening marine layer. that will help cool us off nicely. it will definitely be a cooler day at the beach. today we'll see some much cooler temperatures thanks to a nice onshore flow. your temperature trend yesterday climbed into the 80s quickly. this morning we'll be sticking in the upper 70s until about 10:00, then we quickly see a jump into the 80s by 1:00. if you'll notice we kind of stick to the 80s for the most part in san jose. we're not expected to hit the 90s there, but that red flag warning will hit the 80s. we'll talk about what to exp

. >> i'm vicki nguyen. smoldering in the south bay, a fire sparked at a waste management facility in san jose. >> marianne favro, what do we know? >> reporter: five fire trucks went up to the guadeloupe landfill this afternoon and are nervous about a trash fire burning so close to their homes. you could highway 85 more than a half acre of trash burned this afternoon around 4:00. san jose fire says the fire is now contained and the cause is under investigation. we talked to one firefighter who had to come down the hill to get more water from a fire hydrant. what's unique about a garbage fire is it can smolder for days. right now the plan is to stir up the trash with a tractor and water it down thoroughly so it doesn't reignite. firefighters do plan to be out here for the next couple of hours keeping an eye on this fire. again, the fire is contained and no homes were threatened, but certainly, this fire was very concerning because of two factors. one, it's very warm out here, and also we're seeing considerabl
