that officer found marijuana in victor white's front pants pocket. he officer then reportedly ran the men's names through the police database and then he called for backup. mr. white's friend says that when the second officer arrived, the backup officer arrived. police handcuffed victor white and placed him in the back of the first car. they read him his rights. they then searched him again. it was during that second search that police say they found cigars on him and a small amount of cocaine. he said apparently that he was going to use the cigars to smoke marijuana. according to the police report, mr. white said both the cocaine and the marijuana belonged to him. police officers dismissed mr. white's friend. they said he could go home. he walked back home, but they kept victor white. they drove victor white to the sheriff's office for furthering questioning and what happened next is very unclear. much of this story is unclear. the next series of events are particularly woolly, then the following day on march 3rd, the louisiana state police posted th

victor is there. this is in the wake of breaking news that violence again exploded more than a week now after the killing of an unarmed black teenager by a white police officer. what do you know happened, victor? >> hours ago christi, police used smoke canisters and tear gas in response to a shooting minutes into this five-hour curfew. the top security officer on the scene, captain ron johnson, says the show of force amid protest was triggered by a gunman who walked into the street near a barbecue restaurant. authorities first deployed the smoke canisters to push back the crowd. >> then we got a report of a shooting victim near the kwik trip and barbecue, as they approached red's barbecue, they did deploy tear gas at red's barbecue at that point, that was the first canister deployed was there in an effort to move back and get to the shooting victim. also a police car at that location was shot at. >> captain ron johnson there, also said authorities clamped down on protesters in response to the shooting, not the curfew violations. seven people were arrested though not the alleged shooter. they don't know where the shooter is to my understanding

white members. some concerned about the demographic makeup of the grand jury. are their concerns warranted? >> victor, good morning to you. good morning, mark. ultimately, race is an issue. it's important. important as attorneys when we do jury selection and equally important in the grand jury process. why do assay that? it comes down to issues of culture, upbringing and perception. obviously, if you grew up in an area where the police helped you get the cat out of the tree, your perception of officers would be a lot different than if you grew up in an area wraps you were stopped and questions and perhaps had interactions with the police that were on the negative side. so racial composition is significant and that, victor, calls to the issue and the forefront the question as to whether or not there should have been a grand jury impaneled? should the prosecutor just filed a criminal complaint and proceeded in the light of day. filing a criminal complaint would allow for a preliminary hearing. seen witnesses presented in at courtroom. you would have evidence challenged by the attorney for darren wilson

white house. let's talk about how they're going to put this coalition together. >> reporter: well, victor, first of all, the pentagon has to president president obama with a plan and strategy for dealing with isis, especially in syria. what we do know is that the president is actively looking at going to congress for authorization. but at the same time we are hearing they do want an international coalition as you mentioned. so president obama will be traveling to the nato summit next week where he will meet with for ron leaders. john kerry and chuck hagel are also going. they will be meeting with the european alleys of the united states. they plan to go to the middle east where they will meet with middle eastern leaders. after that, the united states will host a meeting of the u.n. security council presidency and plan there to apply even more pressure to foreign leaders so they can develop this international coalition. >> what can you tell us about the president expected to return to washington there. >> last night, the president was in new york city for a fundraiser. he decided to come back last n
