the whole thing went down around the washington old dominion park trail in vienna. tonight the guy cops say behind it all could be out there roaming the streets right now. wisdom martin live in the newsroom with the news edge. >> reporter: brian, this is disturbing to a lot of people because it happened in broad daylight and for some it's a warning to be extra careful, even in what they consider a normally safe community. the washington old dominion park trail in vienna is a popular place where a constant flow of people come to walk, run or ride. >> the trail is always busy. i mean, even in the middle of the day there's always people on edge. >> reporter: but today a terrifying experience for one person on this normally peaceful trail. it happened around 2:00 p.m. when a 25-year-old jogger ran into a man on a tan cruiser bike. >> she was approached by an individual on a bicycle and he began screaming and shouting at her and exposed himself to her. >> reporter: investigators say the jogger tried to get away but the suspect grabbed her, threw her to the ground, got on

the first attack occurred on wednesday, july 15th in the town of vienna. a woman joggerel to police that a man in a bike got off, exposed himself, threw her on the ground and got on top of her. the thursday incidents began around noon near mile marker 15 on the wond trail. not far from hunter mill road in fairfax county. a 24-year-old woman told police that a man in a bicycle approached her, exposed himself and fled on the bike. less than an hour later, two young women were accosted at mile marker 13, closer to vienna. >> they were walking on the trail and encountered a man who was also walking and that man exposed mself to the women. he did attempt to grab one. when she screamed, he grabbed the bicycle that was hiding behind the bush and fled on the bike. >> reporter: the description of the suspect in all three incidents is remarkably similar. a shirtless white male, about 40 years old with tanned skin wearing black shorts. vienna police have published an artist sketch of the suspect, which has been posted on the trail, very close to where the thursday as
