. >> reporter: like most dog owners, laurie loves hers and 9- year-old vincente knows it.of her life. >> this way he acts i call it like john wayne hello everybody here i am. i just adore him and i don't want anything to happen to him. >> reporter: something did last wednesday vincente gave her quite a square it was meal time. >> cookery. >> reporter: laurie knew something wasn't right. >> he was eating very slowly, chewing very slowly and he doesn't do that he gulps it down inhales food. >> reporter: so off to the vet for testing. two x rays later, technicians figured it out can you see it? it was a spoon, 7 inches, stuck in vincente's stomach >> i couldn't believe it trying the think how he got that down his throat. >> reporter: it was a delicate operation the spoon made a hole in his stomach his spleen and intestines gathered around the hole 24 hours after surgery, vincente was back home, along with a shaved belly and a foot long incision mark. >>> this is the spoon, tarnished and bent medical bills added up to $2,500. >> very expensive spoon i am not going to lose it a

mayor vincent gray wants police to remove them from mcpherson square. fox 5's sheri lee is live at the square with the latest. good morning, sheri. reporter: good morning, tony, good morning, allison. the occupy d.c. group here at mcpherson square does not have a permit, but they have been allowed to stay. so far we have not seen any attempt to move them out of here, but the mayor says the situation here is dangerous, it is a health hazard and he wants them out. the encampment has tents but in the weeks they've been here, the health department says it's been infested with rats, posing a risk of disease. a report blamed improper disposal of trash and human waste. mayor gray sent a letter to the park police, asking to get rid of the occupiers at mcpherson square. the park service had no comment except to say that the protesters have a right to freedom of speech. mayor gray wants the mcpherson protesters to join another group at freedom plaza which does have a permit through the end of february. occupiers see no reason to go, but will if they are forced ou

movement the initial ok mayor vincent gray and the national park service have decided that this form of long protest has lasted long enough but that wasn't enough for representative darrell issa he had his powerful subcommittee called in d.c. police chief cathy lanier and the national park service amongst others to figure out why the protesters were able to circumvent the district's ban against camping in a federal park so members of the committee had that they'll question the park services decision making process and possibly mayor vincent gray.
