we are based in a health department and so we don't have the resources to build buildings and to renovate buildings because we're largely grant funded. one of our employees, janey vincent, saw a -- [applause] >> saw that there were federal stimulus funds that we could apply for to renovate our building. we needed to work together more collaboratively. teams were split up on different floors and there wasn't good meeting space to work cross teams. we needed more clinical space to see our study volunteers and we needed more community space to bring community into what we do. under barbara garcia's leadership, we came together and put in this grant and it's the first time that the federal government, n.i.h., has awarded this kind of money to a health department. they've only awarded this kind of research money to universities so it's really through the joint efforts under barbara's leadership that we've been able to move forward and it's really through the support of the city government through the mayor, through our supervisors, through the health commission, that we've moved this field forward so without further ado, i want to introduce the honorable mayor lee. giving way to the sunny breaks as we went toward sunset a pretty finish to the day along the bay bridge and one more stop at laurel saint vincent nice sunny finish to a quiet sunday. we like it that wait a minute the radar all clear. that's going to hopped ill tonight, tomorrow, tuesday. next chance of precipitation wednesday and that's up a 30 to 40% chance right now. not exactly a high properrible this moment in time but we will bring the chance midweek. just a chilly night. ocean city cold at 24. winds light from the east right now and as we take a look at the pattern, today's highs, very average but tomorrow we will add a solid five degrees to the mid40s. we will be up above 50 with sun. not a bad monday, not a bad way to start out the week. across east just not much to tell you about. a little upper air flow you can spot here with the southern branch of the jet stream. kind of arcing over the deep south and that's helping warm up temperatures in that direction. you can see in the mid50s near 60 charleston. most of the east is under the influence of that cooler area of high pressure. the numbers will stay cool tonight. star

and of course vincent pan from chinese affirmative action for giving us a space to do all of our works a time when we were floating around. and carrying out boxes of magazines from garages to garages. our readers, donors and volunteers. just one thing that i would like to mention, i recently went to a documentary screening at the san francisco film festival. and it's here for another week so i hope some of you get to catch some of the wonderful films that are there. and i went to a documentary screening called crime after crime. i don't know how many of you guys were able to catch it. and the film maker showed up and did a q&a. and there he said that visibility doesn't equal change. and that's something that really resonated with me. and if there's one thing that i can leave with you today it's that message. i want to thank our a.p.a. elected officials for all the work that you guys are doing. because again, just because there's a large number of us doesn't mean that things will change if we don't actively make it happen. so we applaud all of the officials that are serving as ll
