vinita nair has more. >> reporter: police lights and sirens lit up the streets of new britain, connecticut. this home in a quiet residential neighborhood was swarming with s.w.a.t. teams after police were alerted to a bizarre extortion plot involving a high ranking bank employee. >> police agencies began to investigate a report after home invasion that occurred in bristol. information was developed that linked that incident to an alleged scheme to steal money from achieve financial credit union. >> reporter: two intruders stormed the home of matthew yussman, the cfo of achieve financial credit union sunday afternoon. they strapped a device to him claiming there was a bomb. next they allegedly tied the banker's mother to a bed attaching a device to her as well. they allegedly told yussman that if he tried to contact police or take off the device, they would detonate it remotely with a cell phone. yussman was then instructed to drive nine miles to the barpg, empty the vault -- bank, empty the vault and bring the money to him. but he was able to alert authorities to his location outside the c
