he has landed on 19 different aircraft carriers and was the commanding officer of the uss carl vinson. he served as the 54th president of the u.s. naval war college in newport. during his career he flew 125 combat missions in support of operations in bosnia, kosovo, kuwait, iraq and afghanistan. in his career he completed 2016 combat-arrested landings, the most of any naval aviator in history, active or retired.
