it is virgil goode. he hails from rocky mount, virginia. he was born in richmond, va., in october 1946. he received his bachelor of arts from the university of richmond. he served in the virginia national guard. he is an attorney by trade. he was elected -- he served as a legislator in the virginia general assembly and the state senate's. he served 12 years as a u.s. representative in the u.s. congress. he is married to lucy goode. and they have a daughter. i would point out that with this 12 years service in the u.s. congress, he served in federal office longer than barack obama or mitt romney combined.
