she lived in virginia. she kept a diary throughout the war and he recalls all the atrocities taken as soldiers marching back and forth, looting, stealing, etc. not a judith mcguire thing. there were two brothers. one killed in the war, the other kept a journal. that should be published in its entirety. henry deshields certainly worthy of publication. you can't imagine the wealth of this collection and the photographs are just outstanding. but again, i would like -- once more to offer my thanks to the dozens of people in virginia, some of whom stood in line for an hour or more to share their collections with the library. and with you and with man kind. it's just a tremendous accomplishment that we made. in many respects exceeds anything that's been accomplished. the seqicentennial -- it was just a sheer joy and pleasure to work with them on behalf of history and certainly on behalf of the commonwealth. the legacy collection is just there and i don't think any reputable civil war historian can bypass it. it's
