right now the storm team 4 radar showing some snow and rain and sleet out in west virginia. areasn and gray and pink. that's where we're getting the wintry mix. closer to the metro area maybe getting a few flurries northern, western suburbs. most of this will be passing north and west of us through the morning hours. and then it's later today, here is the timing on any accumulating snow. this is about 10:00 in the morning, some of that begins to move into the northern shenandoah valley panhandle of west virginia. then that spreads east between 11:00 until 3:00 4:00 in the afternoon. south, it will be a mix of some snow and rain around the metro area. this area in the green an pepg. but pink. but it will stay all snow for the afternoon from around noon until around 3:00 4:00. but then it's all gone and heads off to the north and east by around 6:00 p.m.. after that we'll have a mostly cloudy evening and it will freeze back up again overnight tonight. so mostly rain south of washington a little bit of a mix in the metro area. may leave us with a coating to an inch by the time it end

areas you're locked in your with your forecast. the storm is exiting the appalachians, it will make its way towards the norfolk/virginia beach area. that's when it will begin to explode. there's some had hazards for driving from pittsburgh to the turnpike. across 81, down into west virginia and virginia, some snowy weather. this is light stuff. this is nuisance type one to two to three inches you'll be driving in today. it's not until we get about until 8:00 p.m. tonight. it starts to throw back the moisture. you see it in the blue here. as we go through about midnight this is when the band really sets up. it will be a huge band. this is when we could get that thunder snow starting from boston to new york. all the way through areas of long island and cape cod. that continues over for 12 hours. snowfall rates two to three inches an hour. you can do the math there. that's why we're talking about two to three feet in some areas. it's not until we get to wednesday morning that the storm ends. and that would be right about 8:00 a.m. that's kind of the timing of the storm and my latest thinking of, you know, be prepared to stay in your h
