yeah, the remnants of tropical storm ana has made their way to virginia beach. this is now the earliest tropical storm to hit this far north on the atlantic coast before hurricane season even starts on june 1st. it made landfall in myrtle beach, south carolina, where it produced nearly 6 inches of rain. we also saw peak wind gusts at 50 to 60 miles per hour. the coast of north carolina picked up 2 to 4 inches of rain. beach erosion was the biggest concern because of the rough surf. now, here today we are looking at those torrential tropical downpours that could lead to some brief urban flooding. but the biggest concern here will be for the rip currents in the ocean. tomorrow it's going to be about 90 degrees here. with folks at the beach, they really need to keep that in mind. and i want to point out a preseason storm this early is no indication that it's going to be a bad hurricane season, but of course we'll see how that all plays out. >> dylan, thank you. >>> meantime, we'll go to mississippi. it was an emotional scene in the town of hattiesburg last night at
