teaching bi lingual courses working to fight for her community in visitation valley.iar with that community it's a community on the south side of san francisco that sometimes feel forgotten. feel left out but marlene doesn't let that happen. she makes sure that everyone who's supervisor than anyone who's mayor? they're not gonna forget about visitation valley and providing this community and especially seniors. especially seniors with the support that they need to thrive and feel safe in their communities. i got to know her. over the past years in just watching her run for supervisor and district 10. you didn't win but too short to create a lot of heck am i said you know i really was drawn to her because i love the fight in her. she is unapologetic in her commitment to fight for people who often times. don't have a voice especially many of the seniors who in visitation valley they may not speak english and she's right there helping with bilingual courses helping with translation helping to be the voice to fight for the resources that this community needs and we really

granddaughter of 88, a visitation valley resident, fell victim to unfortunate crime in january. since the incident, miss yee has been inspirational in creating racial unity and healing spaces between communities through various community spaces. she has dedicated her time to trans formative justice, improvings public safety across our communities and working with our office and president yee's office to increase bilingual offices. miss yee is a transformational activist and bilingual yoga teacher, passionate about health and wholeness on all levels. teaches yoga through the lens of access and trauma providing compassionate support to underserved and underrepresented communities such as at risk and immigrant populations. by giving people the tools to connect deeper with themselves and each other, she firmly believes we can heal core wounds, build resilience, and transform many lives. the ripples of infinite. her own journey has showed her what is possible, peace is possible. therefore, miss yee not only sees viscerally feels the connection between an individual's pain and the pai

election, i knocked on doors in my district, and personally talked to a thousand votervoters in visitation valley, and i saw a frustration with the lack of programs. there are only seven programs available, and there are zero arts programs available in bay view and park valley. and in contrast, some offer 56 programs. but we have twice as many children at district 8, more than 16,000, compared to 8,000. district 10 has the largest under 18 population, and the highest percentage of our population is under 18, and that's almost 22%, compared to a city-wide average of 13%. the 2016 charter amendment aimed to address these issues, but the equity matrix failed to appreciate the depth of these metrix. and vacancies have resulted in -- if i'm appointed to the committee, my goals would be advocate for increased equity in the areas with the largest population, such as children and seniors. and to advocate for updated metrix. and three, ensure adequate community outreach, and culturally competent instruction, and elimination of barriers. that's all. thank you so much. >> thank you so much. any questions or

jamilia land visited her nephew nathan jackson at salinas valley state prison saturday... she's his first visitor since he heard the news about his four year old boy. he has completely fallen a part.. screaming and crying nathan's son navaughn is on life support at children's hospital oakland after he accidentally shot himself in the head wednesday. after requesting that nathan be given what's called a community leave, the state granted him a skype video call saturdya night. im grateful and appreciative that he has made that offer, but it is not enough. jamilia says community leaves can be granted to inmates that are classified level one or two. nathan is currently classified as a level four inmate. so the family is hoping the governor will show compassion, and make an exceptionhe has lost two brothers and a sister to gun violence and now his 4 year old son is in the hospital fighting for his life and im asking gov newsom as a father as a man to please grant him this exception and allow him to be safely transported to the hospital. where he can sit by his son's bedside. ja
