vladimir duthiers is at mt.inai hospital where we could learn the test results within the next 24 hours. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, the new york state hospital says after speaking with officials and the cdc it is quote, unlikely, that this patient has ebola. they're not taking any chances. the patient underwent a series of tests monday. those test samples are going to be sent to the cdc to be processed. they may even come back within the next day or so. for now, the hospital is not releasing much information on the patient's current condition box of privacy reasons. this outbreak of ebola in parts of west africa and the two americans infected with the disease overseas has many here in the united states on edge. officials here at mt. sinai are urging the public to remain calm. >> i think the most important thing, people should understand if this were a case of ebola which we do not know that it is not transmitted by casual contact. and everything that happened in mt. sinai happened in a rapid fashio
