he injured his ankle playing volleyball.ver forget the image of folks carrying my father into the hospital. he was diagnosed with a sprain. four years later, they determined that he had broken it in several places. he had to have surgery. he took up golf again after surgery. i was 10 at the time. he took a long at the time. every few goals, he would stop and i would hit some shots. that is when i was introduced to my longtime life mentor, jack grout, what a great man. and that is when i began to play golf. my father and mother sacrificed so much for me. the opportunity to pursue my career. they same can be said about my sister here today. as my only sibling, i think she got the short end of the stick. i love her today and always, and thinker again. [applause] using golf as a vehicle, my father taught me so many valuable lessons, among them sportsmanship, value and integrity. more important, i let learn to deal with adversity. my father always said the basis think -- greatest thing about sports is graciousness and victory. my

students we have cookouts and stuff, they all come dressed in their football uniforms and their volleyball and all the cheerleading and everything, we take a picture. so at night they are going to go compete on the field. here they are learning together. they are in a collaborative partnership. i think they have really grown and have had an opportunity to interact with them also. another thing that we really think sets ours apart s. a lot of our c.t.e. courses are nationally certified. so when they leave here, they'll have a n.i.m. certificate. just talked to a young man in washington he's a senior. he's going to graduate with a n.i.m. certificate in welding. he's had five job offers. and he's going to go out and make $40,000 his first year out of high school. we hope they come back and go through our whole program. it's quite an opportunity. it's really like this land was donated by a businessperson. we get a lot of community support. ms. clinton: it's sort of reinforcing. you get community support because you provide the services and people, parents, business, members of the community, t

you are a female volleyball player and you want to play.ing to be right for this team. you have been benched for two weeks. you say i got to get to another team and the league says no. the family says we are going to court. they win in court but the league is a private club. they have no jurisdiction therefore the girl sits on the bench. the washington post and everybody writes it up as people suing to play. she told us a different story this morning. >> i think that it is unfortunate. i mentioned first as lawyers people go to lawyers at the drop of a hat whatever wrong actual or perceived. in this case it seems as though this child as a substantive right to have access to a team that she enjoys. here is the real problem rather than thump around the law. the problem is these organizations with their own bureaucracies like this league when did they become the nfl and ncaa and major league baseball that they are so overorganized they have their own rules and own zone for existing and it is the league that is stopping this child from transferr
