chief meteorologist vytas reid is here with a first look at the sky watch forecast. vytas? >> yeah, jennifer, gorgeous today. warm temperatures around the area. mid to upper 80s in some spots. and warm air building in tomorrow. off to the west. there are showers and thunderstorms trying to get close to baltimore. but, i think, most of it breaks up over the mountains and won't make it here. maybe few western counties with a few sprinkles. but we should be dry overnight. and looking at 70 downtown baltimore right now. 68 degrees in d.c. 72 in hagerstown. we will see the warm air build in tomorrow. and next day planner, lunch time. 80 degrees w plenty of sunshine. and the temperature will continue to get into the mid 80s. we should see a high of right around 84 to 85. how long the heat wave will stick around, coming up in the seven-day forecast. >> a housing market looking up. penned inhome sales rose 8.2 percent in february. fueling the jump was the expiration of the home buyers tax credit. the midwest and northeast had the best performance and the rest was the only region th

check back with vytas reid. our chief meteorologist, with a look at the weekend and end of the week, of course. >> and tomorrow. actually. most importantly. it looks like we will see showers moving our way. and we will probably see more rain heading our way for the weekend as well as jeff mentioned. talking about radar. skycam looking down at the inner harbour. no activity except for clouds building n 51 degrees. winds calm. and our humidity level sitting at 65 percent. looks like we have the temperatures at 59 degrees in baltimore. 57 in d.c.. and 56 in hagerstown. still on the cooler side western edge of the mountains at 46. and folks in salisbury, 56 right now on the eastern shore. bigger picture here shows some of the temperatures across the region. 61 in new york city. bat boston at 58. 52 in pittsburg. cleveland at 52. and down in parts of west virginia, 59 degrees in charleston. so it looks like most areas are seeing the mid to upper 50s. drop into the mid to lower 50s through the overnight and as clouds

chief meteorologist vytas reid joins with us a look at what is going on out there now. and, of course, looking ahead to opening day tomorrow. >> yeah, a lot of people would be nervous if you have tickets heading down to the game tomorrow. not a washout. rain pushes through tonight. and front continues to push up to the northeast. taking the rain with it. which is good news. take a look outside and see what is happening on radar. decent shower tryst over the city. right around the entire beltway. baltimore city getting rain. pikesville, timonium, lutherville you are getting rain. and towson looking at heavy rain also. down to the south of the city. looking at decent rain in glen burnie. over to annapolis. and eastern shore, we have rain coming down. in chestertown. you are not out of the woods either. as we see the showers. because of this warm air pushed off to the east as the colder air moves in. strong storms back west of us. but that has pretty much dissipateed and we are left with heavy rain through the overnight. dropping temperatures. 61 in baltimore right now. 43

chief meteorologist vytas reid joins us with a first look at the sky watch forecast. hi vytas. >> no rainy conditions through much of the afternoon and evening. but the showers now have pushed off south. and we will get breaks in the clouds it looks like it will set up to be a decent day tomorrow compared to today. with cooler air, and also the shower activity. hd radar scanning the skies across baltimore, central portion of the state. no activity out there right now. in fact, putting this in motion, you can see the showers, continuing to extend to the south of us. we are continuing to see the break from the rain. as the rain moves offshore. off the coast of norfolk virginia. back west, good news, is that not anything going on. relatively quiet conditions. now the temperatures were in the upper 50s today. that was the high today. warm air being held off to the south. in the 60s. and right now sitting in the upper 40s. so cool night. but we will see things change for the next day planner. more sunshine with temperatures in the 60s. detailed look at how long the mild air

here's vytas reid with the very latest. >> hey, jeff. it was a beautiful day. plenty of sunshine. a little on the cooler note, especially with the winds out of the northwest. hd radar showing no activity in the form of precipitation over the state, but just to the the north of us, there were a few blips on the radar. we have an area of low pressure up towards maine that is bringing down showers. even a few spotty showers south of state college pennsylvania. looks like mainly-dry conscience. that will be the case through the overnight as the clouds continue to break. 53 in baltimore. 50 in d.c. only 36 in oakland in western maryland. those temperatures will drop in to the mid and upper 30s overnight tonight. it will be a chilly overnight temperature. we will start to warm up as we get in to tomorrow. holding on to that sunshine, nice and dry conditions tomorrow. 62 by lunchtime. we could get in to the mid-60s. there's warm air coming our way. we have showers to talk about as well as in the forecast. a look at that coming up in just a bit. >>> it's a double pleasure. have you fun an

and chief meteorologist vytas reid joins us with a look at what is going on in the sky watch forecast. vytas? >> yeah, first severe weather of the season. but not bad for most of the region. stronger storms up in cecil county. and down south of us around suburbs of dc. mainly heavy rain. dealing with it for the next few hours. up in northeastern portions of harford county. rising sun and perryville up to see shil county, decent showers. and rain down to the south of us over dc. continue to see that, come through the region. also columbia looking at heavy rain over to ellicott city. and then continue to see the activity push through. here is what is happening. bigger picture. puts it in motion. you see the rain is coming up 95. heavy showers expected over the next couple of hours. front is still sitting back over western portions of west virginia. so we we have a good distance to let that get through overnight tonight. and temperatures will fall. so definitely we have more activity on the way. in fact, looking at the lightning. mainly over virginia where it is strong, as far as even to

here is chief meteorologist vytas reid with a look at the sky watch forecast. vytas? >> yeah, jeff, looked like absolutely beautiful day out there today. with plenty of sunshine. temperatures comfortable in the mid 60s. and as we look at the hd radar. scanning the skies. no activity going on in the form of rain. we have mainly clear conditions. and as far as the clouds close to us, down south, west of us. stay southwest of us through much of the evening. in fact, look going at a few scattered showers over parts of the tennessee valley. down to the southerntary of the country. this is the activity along a frontal boundary that moves our direction giving us a chance of rain. wednesday and wednesday night, and thursday. until then, tomorrow, decent day. 61 degrees downtown baltimore. 58 in d.c. 57 in hagerstown. and looks like we will see a decent day setting up for tomorrow. with plenty of sunshine. few high thin clouds working in by the afternoon. temperatures in the mid 60s. we should get into the upper 60s for highs. and it looks like continue to warm up a bit. off-a

here is vytas reid with the sky watch forecast. >> yeah, jeff, we got to see decent rainfall coming downrain coming down. and queen anne you are getting rain and that stretches down to easton. and folks in denton few sprinkles coming up. but it looks like trailing end of shower activity pushes east. makes way for clearing. through the overnight. so lining at the bigger picture here. we can see that the shower activity is pushing off to the east. and a little heavier aus get up to parts of new jersey. and back to the west. we have breaks in the clouds actually. that will allow for us to continue to get clearing as we see rain push east. and how much rain are we talking about? across the area, anywhere from a quarter of an inch, more around baltimore area. and it looks like a little less on the eastern shore. where the showers have lessened. we are sitting at 56 in baltimore. 55 in d.c.. and we will see the breaks in clouds. plenty of sunshine over the next couple of days here actually. it looks good. and see the temperatures in the lower 70s tomorrow. and it will feel good out there. clos
