we are just getting word from our affiliate in new york city wabc, saying officials are now treating what was first being reported as a road rage incident as an act of terror. that is a big headline just coming in. again, an act of terror. that is what this is now classified. no longer being looked at as simply a road rage incident. let's walk you through what has unfolded in the last hour. we are looking at pictures. video we just turned around for you of an active situation on the ground in manhattan's lower west side. you are seeing a bike path. several people were nowed down within the hour. the latest numbers from cnn are that six people are confirmed dead. at least 15 are injured. we are standing by for a news conference thosed to happen in the next 20 minutes. that is a vehicle that home depot pickup truck you there, that is the one that mowed into a crowded bic path injuring so many. komen is on the way down there -- we are hearing governor cuomo on the scene, his way to the scene. and this is appearing to be more than road rage incident. this is a very chaotic scene. they sa

you're watching this video coming to us from wabc in new york. the "new york post" is reporting now that two people have been fatally shot in lower manhattan by a gunman firing from his truck. we don't know what precipitated the incident. some are saying an accident between two vehicles. the gunman now in police custody shot at least six people at west street and chambers street, this is downtown, not too far from the old world trade center, which is now known as the freedom tower. it happened around 45 minutes ago. a witness described in the post saying this. what happened was there was a car crash. the driver came out of one of the cars. he had two guns. he was running around chamber's street. somebody started to chase him. there were multiple reports of gun shots. one witness said four to six. people started running. there was evidence of one person laying motionless on the street. reports of two to three others were in a similar predicament. video shows some confusion there. the shooter is in custody. there's so much we don't know what we dou
