we sent paul wagner to one of the hardest hit areas. paul. >> reporter: i watched the devastation and came to see it here for myself and i'm standing in front of the restaurant where the water came up to about my neck area. it devastated the businesses around here, including nathan's famous, which is just around the corner from here. the ocean is a couple hundred yards that way and where the boardwalk is still in tact, brian, and there is a creek back here and then the two met. the ocean and the croak came in here and gargiulo's restaurant was devastated. let me show you the last day and a half, they have been pumping all of the water out of their basement. take a look inside gargiulo's restaurant and so what five feet of water can do. buckled floors, a heavy dose of mud. the basement where all of the space are kept, including thousands of bottles of wine, still under water. anthony russo was inside when the water started pouring in. >> and we ran into the second floor. >> and you say that? >> canels, in the attic, a rocking chair for m
