this is a deposition of mary walcott against john willard. and we have one piece here that you see everything dates from may 8 and earlier and that's the deposition, the evidence that the woman was turning in. and then we have the next thing, which is the oath. at the grand jury you had to swear to the truth of your testimony. so when we see one of these, we know that it was used before the grand jury. that's also scribe w, my friend. at some point i'm going to find out who that was. and then there's the last piece that says jurat, and that was a notation that was used at trial, and the trial was in august. so we've got three different dates, three different handwritings. we've got thomas putnam, scribe w, and steven sowell, the clerk of of the court. and that's what this looks like in our database. i had a little struggle with bernie. he is a little linear. he likes to put it on a string, and i managed to wrestle him away from that a little bit so we could look at the individual documents separately and then i could string the beads for him.
