msnbc's alex seitz-wald is here with me on set. rally. he brings out these enormous crowds, but the question really is, can he turn that enthusiasm into votes the way he did here in michigan. you've written about this. what's the strategy? >> you look at ohio and michigan and there's a lot of similarities. both around the same size, around 10 million people. you look at education levels, income levels, go through all the demographics and see a lot of similarities, both about the same population of white and black support as well. and that was really key for bernie sanders in michigan. he still lost the plaque vote, 68, 70% to 30, but that's way better than he did in the south. and that difference could have been enough to swing here. so right now, they're focusing big on cleveland, especially east cleveland, where you have a lot of african-american voters, down in columbus and cincinnati. they think that's fertile territory for them to kind of pick up a few votes and eat into clinton's margin, even though they're under no impressio
