i'm justine waldman. a federal grand jury has indicted the former mayor of oakland sheng thao. this is according to the san francisco chronicle. and this is coming after the fbi had a raid on taos, oakland home last year. here's video from then. and since this raid, tal has repeatedly said in interviews, including with us here on kron 4, that she is innocent and that she was not the target of an investigation. kron 4 has reached out to the fbi, the former mayor and her lawyers for comment. the fbi would not confirm or deny the report. we have not yet heard from the former mayor of note here, the u.s. attorney's office and federal officials are holding a news conference tomorrow to announce what they're calling, quote, significant law enforcement action. but they would not go into details as to exactly what they plan to be talking about. so stay with us here on kron for news. as we work to get more details about this announcement and this indictment kron four's. dan kerman is on the story for us this afternoon. and the fbi did serve a search warrant to a san leandro city council
