walgreens for its part has received 180,000 doses.its pharmacies in more than a dozen states. here in the state of connecticut, for example, they've got 4,400 doses. that's going to be going to 44 of its pharmacies here in the state, including this one where we are right now in new britton. there's been a lot of talk about demand, because what we've been seeing, alisyn, as you know, is sometimes more demand than there is supply. well, walgreens, for its part, would not comment about what sort of demand they're seeing so far, when it comes to this rollout of this federal program, but they did say they expect all 180,000 of the doses that they've received to be used up, to be administered by monday, tuesday of next week at the latest. also, we should point out, this federal program is not only aimed at making things more convenient, but also aimed at getting at vulnerable communities. here in new britton, for example, they've had a real tough time, they've really been struggling trying to get this vaccine out to the elderly population.

if it's just cvs and walgreens and you don't have a cvs and walgreens, what's that going to mean forasked the same question. and iffirst of all, i think, foa period of time, there's a concern it's going to exacerbate these disparities, which we've seen every step of the way. disparities where black and brown americans are more likely to be exposed, more likely to get sick, more likely to be hospitalized. and now less likely to be vaccinated. in part -- somewhat because of vaccine hesitancy, but somewhat because of access. what we're hearing is that these mobile vaccination centers should hopefully make a dent in terms of trying to reach out to underserved communities and we saw evidence of ma and pop pharmacies in west virginia having an impact on distribution. we're still early days in terms of actually getting the vaccines into those pharmacies. but hopefully that will make a difference in rural communities as well. >> we're going to keep trying to go on, even though the connection is a little bit iffy. >> sorry. >> the cdc also weighing in. and i want you to explain this to us, th
