walker's petering out. bush seems to be collapsing.ubio's positive rating is so strong, i look at that more than any other part of the horse race. mark: he is not the front runner but here is what he has. he is the face of the future of the party. everybody thinks that he can be in the game for the nomination and probably will be. there are people who say that walker bush will not stand up. most everybody agrees that if rubio survives the scrutiny, he will be in the game. john: just to get the numbers on their, 69% favorable. those are numbers you would sell to your mother if you are running for president. there is some announcement bump, but my question for you is what is going on with jeb bush? he is falling apart in iowa. what is the expedition for that? mark: he is spending his time raising money. in two months, he will be spending more time with voters in the race. he is so caught up with the past, and he needs to well them. there is a dinner coming up that he needs to well hat. john: one republican said, cruise announcement, paul

jeb bush could be in the lead in the polls in iowa and new hampshire, or scott walker could be. mark: bush i don't think could be the front runner. his poll numbers aren't going to go up very much -- john: that's a big concession on your part. monarch even if they go up people are going to say, voters aren't going to vote for a bush. the other thing is he's going have -- to have $100 million in the bank and he's a bush. everyone else perceived as a front runner has to deal with the fact that bush, when the voting starts, his campaign is going to be spending a lot of money. i can't think of a scenario that is plausible where rubio or someone else is the front runner the john: i think we are likely to not have a front runner until iowa. even back in 20123 where people look back and say mitt romney was the front runner all along. that's sort of true but it wasn't until romney won iowa, which he only did for about three weeks, then all of a sudden mitt romney is the front runner. if you didn't have a front runner in 2012, you're not going to have one in 2015. mark: the other dynamic

bush, mike huckabee. florida senator marco rubio and wisconsin governor scott walker each winning 10%.d evening karl. >> good evening, greta. >> all right. karl if this is the the kentucky derby with those five in the tie for 10% what -- how do you pull out from that pack? >> well, first of all let's be careful about any of these polls people are sitting on the sidelines waiting to see who gets into the field. they want to make their decision after everybody has been in and everybody has a chance to sort of demonstrate their stuff. these early polls are not really all that important. what it does say though is if you take a look at it, there are five people who have double digits, sort of in first place. no frontrunner. everybody is sort of tied. i have got these from -- the interior working the way out, huckabee, then carson, then rubio then, bush, then walker. i'm not going to put them in straight alphabetical order or reverse. i'm starting in the middle jump to either side to be fair. same thing down here at the bottom. if you take a look at the second choices. rubio, bush, and walk

i think it's bush walker kasich and rubio. joy reid does that sound about right to you or do you think there's a larger set of possibilities here? >> yeah i agree with you, lawrence. i think it is a very narrow and very small group of this 18 19 or 23 or however many are jumping in. the thing is you still have to win primaries. who can win two out of three in eye with, new hampshire and cycle can is. how could put together enough delegates. i'm not sure how this plays and who will have the money to go the distance. there are a lot of candidates that you mentioned that have a multi millionaire. marco rubio has the money that he can go the distance he could stay in. scott walker has his base, whether it's the bradley foundation type money, that could keep him in. jeb bush has his fortune he has raised with his vast florida donors. i think if you have at least one billionaire that could keep them going long enough to last through the florida primary or get to super tuesday, they're viable. there are others like ted cruz who i thi

hillary clinton is in big trouble for not talking to the press and jeb bush is in bigger trouble for talking to the press and scott walker is in trouble for avoiding the media during his recent trip to israel. jeb bush's poll numbers are not looking great. clinton and walker are holding strong in national polls. while the media is up in arms about all three of them today to some extent, what would you say of the three are doing the best job in dealing with the press right now? john: you have to grade this on consequence and right now the person who is getting away with it is scott walker. there are people in his world who are trying to drum up more interest in the fact that he is not taking questions. the world of his rivals, bush primarily, but others. she is getting hammered for it. he is getting hammered by making mistakes, by taking questions. scott walker so far getting off relatively scot-free. mark: in the next two days clinton will not be paying much of a price. walker will not be paying much of a price. the best person dealing with it is walker. he is not doing very much. a trip to israel, there were some tweets

jeb bush, scott walker, rick perry, chris christie, bobby jindal. south carolina senator lindsey graham has been a character for decades making more and more noise about making a serious run. ohio governor john kasich is talking about running. rick snyder of michigan is making similar noises about running now. he will come in at about the same tier as john kasich. mike pence of indiana did have a bit of a national setback with his anti-discrimination stance last month. he is a prospect for the presidency. i understand because i know you that you laugh at the prospect of a donald trump candidacy, but donald trump, believe me, is actually hiring campaign staff in multiple early voting presidential states. and donald trump polls surprisingly well among likely republican voters. this year, the role of tim pawlenty will be played by george pataki in the sense that to the outside world he is a bit of a snooze fest, but governor pataki is well respected and well connected in republican mainstream politics. john bolton, the angriest ambassador ever, another

john: you think about rand paul, ted cruz, jeb bush, scott walker, mike huckabee -- that range of peoplewhich of those -- are there any of those you would find remotely close to acceptable as potential president? larry: i think if you are a climate denier, that disqualifies you to be president. rubio, who seem to have everything going for, all the right talking points. it troubles me somebody like him. i don't think -- if bush shoves enough money into this thing, i think he could get the nomination. i don't think in his wildest dreams he could beat hillary. he could never get away from his brother. as much as he would like to. they are too many questions to be answered and too many questions nobody has the answer for. this is really very unfair to bush, but my grandfather used to have a saying -- the apple does not fall very far from the tree. john: i know i asked you about your past endeavors to snoop around or trying to find information on these republicans. if you think about that field, who strikes you as being the most likely to have skeletons in their closet? larry: mike huckabee.

clinton but that to get to know him is to like him, and that if you got to know scott walker, if you got to know jeb bushrco rubio better you'd be that's the republican hope. you think that registers? >> yeah people are hot on scott walker. neil: is he in your eyes the front-runner. >> i will tell you i've gotten e-mails from big bundlers in texas and florida stating they are having roundtables and get to know scott walker fund-raisers. neil: allow bush and rube grow fight it out? >> he could, but who knows. neil: they like him, they like walker. >> starting to put their money where their mouth is and starting to hold get together so you can get to know him. that tells you something a lot of the donors you think would have gone to bush. neil: dan, wall street is not monolithic not entirely right wing but among those who are and looking at this base, where does walker stand? >> walker stands as a conservative. he's almost like a reagan in essence that's what he's trying to emulate and i think wall street likes. that the problem i see is the trust factor in this cycle is does wall street trust the governme

if you're looking at the race in terms of walker, rubio and bush are probably the leading candidate. 're walker and rubio and you think maybe you could win iowa, huckabee could play into your vote. he has a very strong base of evangelicals and very little base outside of that and there's no evidence that's going to change in 2016. i would argue he's in an even worse position to win a broader portion of the vote. >> we're going to exterminate the islamists, we're going blah, blah, blah, then they have to run a general election. >> it doesn't -- i mean, that's what happened to them in 2012. mitt romney's problem wasn't what everybody in the debates said about him. it's what he said. and when talking about the self-deportation and all the rest of it, you know, it's what they themselves say in the lead up to the elections. it's the same problems that hillary clinton could have, the debate is now going to exist and if she's talking to bernie sanders, she could find herself saying things that don't work so well for her in the general vote. >> nidra, does it bounce that way? do you think the
