a meeting tonight in walnut creek got pretty heated. as community members sounded off on a huge, new proposed development. that development, if approved, would consist of a but some residents complain. it will bring too much traffic to an already busy part of town. the planned shopping center would be built by safeway on dozens of acres. which are currently home to an empty field and an office complex. kron 4's charles clifford give us a look at the area. safeway is calling this proposed development the orchards at walnut creek. the grocery store chain wants to put in more than 200,000 square feet of commercial and residential space on this 24 acre site... which sits along ygnacio valley road at oak grove road. this is a google earth view site as it is now. the anchor store of the development would be a new 55,000 square foot safeway grocery store located here. but that's just the beginning...there would also be a junior anchor store next door as well as 7 other commercial buildings around the site. to the north of the safeway there wou
