it's always a little warm in walnut creek. when it gets hot like this, jeff, it just gets outrageous. all right, as the october heat wave continues, a lot of people are cranking up the ac and the air conditioning companies are just struggling to keep up. hometown heating and air conditioning in the east bay swamped answering all sorts of repair calls this week. now, they say normally this time of the year, they're servicing heaters, but it's been nonstop ac repairs. concord couple says their air conditioner, of course, stopped working yesterday and they've had their fans running and their drapes drawn. but they say it's still been miserable. i mean, you can see i'm dripping now, so it gets really hot. it's been pretty wild. it's been it's been pretty busy. you know, i told my wife, don't call and ask when i'm coming home. i'll be home when i'm done. and of course, customers have been extremely grateful to see him. they say it's been busier. start to fall the busiest, in fact, since they can remember. oh, that's the worst. it's

this is in the east bay overlooking walnut creek. kari has got a look at our temperatures. i noticed it was a little cooler. at least it felt that way this morning. yeah, and i think it will be like this over the next few days as we get more clouds coming in tomorrow. we'll even start out tomorrow morning with some early morning rain. most of the north bay will see rain chances beginning tonight, but don't worry, this is all drying out. moving out of here in time for your halloween evening. and then the weekend. we'll have another chance of rain coming in mainly early saturday morning. so this is the first system that's arriving with some spotty showers already seeing some sprinkles in parts of the coastal north bay, and so that will continue to fall apart as it moves in. better chance of rain coming in later on this overnight into early tomorrow morning, and then starting to clear out by late tomorrow morning into the afternoon. we'll be tracking this in the next system behind it. i'll have details coming up. mike has a look at where you can fill up for a little bit less.
