i spent a morning with owen at walter reid.s he went through his routine appointments and physical therapy with his new prosthetic leg i was honored to be there with him. there were maybe a dozen other service members present they were missing arms legs or a combination. they were in wheelchairs or on prosthetic s prosthetics they were using canes and crutches. and as i looked around i didn't see america's broken soldiers. i saw america's tenacious survivor s survivors. remember when a suspect in a police chase crashed into a vehicle and a naval officer outside of walter reid national medical center. in that incident police fired into the vehicle. the suspect was not hurt. she was later found not criminally responsible and sent to undergo mental health treatment at a facility in maryland. frederick police arrested a woman they say wandered on to the tarmac of the frederick municipal airport sunday morning. police say at least one plane trying to land had to veer to the side of the runway to avoid hitting 37-year-old lori katz. she's now charged with trespassing. a community is mourning the loss of a 16-year-old killed when his plane crashed this weekend near the orange county airport. the pilot 16-year-old ryan mccall was killed. his classmates at river bend high school in fredricksburg say they are numb. >> it's just crazy thinking like losing a classmate so young. you wouldn't expect that to happen. just thinking positive and saying our prayers and thoughts for his family. maureen: mccall's family released a statement saying he had a passion for flying.

check this baby out here on walter reid drive in arlington.icles are dodging that big pothole as they go by. but come tomorrow's snowfall, they're not going to be able to see it. they'll probably drive into it. vdot reports some is 1500 pothole complaints since january. the string of storms this winter has roads packed with potholes all across the region. >> but, you know it's the weather. you got to tolerate it. and we all got to be a little bit forgiving because they're doing the best they can. >> we talked with a number of jurisdictions and organizations, agencies like vdot and they say once this next storm is over and out of here they're going to be taking a very aggressive effort to repair these potholes. reporting live, stephen tschida, abc 7 news. >> a pedestrian struck in fairfax county is in the hospital now with life threatening injuries. emergency officials were called to centreville around 6:30 this morning. police say the victim is an adult woman and the striking vehicle stayed on the scene. police have not said how the accident h
