also for the new york times to put walter scott on the cover. and wesley i'm a huge fan.e's journalist with integrity and rmt for the movement. he's fair and honest and tells it the way he sees it. sometimes we don't like it but it's told in a fair and honest way. i was watching deray. he had his phone in his hand. >> two phones. >> because he's the story teller. you can't miss it. in this day and age we go to the folkses on the ground in baltimore having a huge rally to hear first hand. sometimes the media has been in the way. we want first hand information and deray and netta and others have been in that process spp i was asking what the movement accomplished. we looked at interesting data. if you look back at december of 2014 a po asked are african-american deaths cause bid police isolated incidents. 51% said they are isolated incidents p. in march of 2014 we asked the same percentage and it was down to 39%. it's more dramatic with white folks. 60% of white americans in december saying they are isolated incidents. by march of 2015 it's down to 45%. a minority saying th

horrible and nationally resonant stories of police violence, whether it was eric garner in new york, walter scotth carolina, tamir rice, and, and, and -- now of course freddie gray, who was placed within in a police van and dead within a week of that encounter for something we still don't understand. those deaths have forced criminal justice and police reform on to the national stage. this week several would-be candidates for 2016 published their proposals for justice reform. all of these different disparate political characters all appearing in the same criminal justice reform anthology. yesterday hillary clinton gave her first major policy speech since announcing her presidential run and it was all about this topic, all about baltimore. >> what we have seen in baltimore should indeed i think does tear at our soul. there is something profoundly wrong when african-american men are still far more likely to be stopped and searched by police, charged with crimes and sentenced to longer prison terms than our meted out to their white counterparts. there is something wrong with a third of all black men

i want to thank walter scott thomas all the members of the clergy, all community leaders and organizations, elected officials for coming together to stand with our children but most important to hear them. to hear them. so from here on, we'll again ms. mosby will take the case from here. i'm sure this investigation will be ongoing. it's a new day in our city. let me leave you with this. i don't want anybody to be confused that the issues of police and community is one part of a broader set of issues. our children need to be properly educated. they need to be trained in certain areas so they can get jobs. so they can be functional. so they can have equal chance to opportunity. and so as we -- as i close out, i want to say this. this is a great day. this is a great day. i think we need to realize that. >> have we witnessed his aretory in your mind? is there a role for federal government to use baltimore as an example? >> i think we -- i want to caution everybody. this is the beginning of a process. we witnessed history in one respect. that is so often these things happen and nothing happens.
