investigators analyzing debris found washed ashore on the australian coast. it might be from the plane. nbc's katy tur has more from perth, australia. >> reporter: so far, we don't know too much, but we do know that a beach goer found something washed ashore. they turned it into the local police and the local police have sent pictures of it to the proper authorities in both malaysia and australia. they're reviewing those right now. the chief of the atsb says it is interesting enough to warrant further review and further analysis, but he did say the more they are looking at it, the less interesting it is becoming. now, the current washing ashore of something in that area is not entirely unlikely. experts say it could happen. it's the southernmost point of australia down there in augusta. it's where the indian oceans and southern ocean meet. remember, there's been a lot of inclement weather in the past six weeks, even a cyclone. it wouldn't be unlikely or unheard of it for it to wash ashore, but it is unusual that it's the only piece of potential wreckage anyon
