to be able to say we're all invested in the future of washington state. we're all invested in the future of our nation. and it won't happen unless we put the investments up front. there's no more excuses for saying i didn't know or i didn't think it would be a bad year. we know the natural disasters that will hit every single corner of our country. we know how much it's costing us. we know the actions that need to happen up front to reduce those costs and to make a difference in people's lives. there are no more time for excuses. >> so i mean, since july 1st, we've seen just over 63,000 homes destroyed in large-scale disasters in the u.s. as hillary mentioned, it's an average year, right? in this new paradigm we're in. but think how extreme that is. we've tried to take that preparedness side down to the family level. i think a lot of times, the 63,000 number can be overwhelming. we tend to have a culture of hope for the best. right? we don't plan for the worst most time. we hope for the best. we really try to take it down to family level. we have a great
