you know more than half a million people leave. here there are no official statistics showing exactly how many who work in the illegal narcotics business but we do know for sure that many senile or drug cartel members have made click on their home according to the c.i. a it's the world's most powerful drug syndicates. mexican drug gangs gained power after the colombian cartels were overthrown in the early ninety's since then the mexicans have controlled the whole drug supply chain from the plantations in south america all the way to mexico's mountains to the dealers on the u.s. streets some say it was the enterprise and spirit of the santa lower drug cartel the turned america into the world's primary kicking and marijuana consumers it's estimated that between them and the mexican cartels make at least twenty to thirty billion dollars a year from the u.s. say. yes you know you. may also. be some in and was just fourteen when he turned to crime and he was wanted for murder so he's grandmother gave him money and he went on the run she joined a drug gang and over many years worked his way up to a senior role that's all in the past now he's asked us not to reveal his real name . into. this or this coming. to me. me her. or her will be. both. again stage the fatal accident that killed this man's daughter somehow his wife survived but it was he scar and he was the real target back then he was a self-styled king of the hill he had money influence property and family. now he's alone but things got every day that he is still a life. that's great. for more than a century the night of may second has been special and click on the police remain vigilant but there isn't usually any trouble that people have seen l.o.l. say he has a small beer the himself maintains order on this day he's a local saint for his believe verse that evening has a similar filter the night before christmas it's not a birth that they commemorate so enthusiastically but the same is death no one knows his exact date of birth he was around thirty eight when he died well more accurately was executed there is now a chapel in the town center mike in the sport where he died it was funded exclusively by his faithful followers there were almost certainly drug lords among them because the law of course didn't see here as a small there the as a saint legend has it that he took money from the rich and gave it to the poor. this is nowhere the is known by several nicknames. the drug scene. that mexico's robin cook dinner is benedict angelo the poor and the guinness you know but was he when there's very little in the historical records to sell for that yes well here that even existed but people believe there are hundreds of thousands of poles here in mexico who come to this temple and they pray and the house help and maybe it's people receive what they need to see what they. come to come from all over the country many leaders say they've experienced miracles and returned to think of the saint and. what doesn't mean is that he must be able to listen i. think. that it was a good idea. he told. us well that. this element going to. our product of ok your braverman that you've given there is your family children and if i mean it was really good for me i think about the first for my kids. the film will. receive. and. i was just filming just on that with ross and even though there's more there it is not recognized by catholic church just treated like the same here. and it is trying to temple people come with candles you see what there is a cousin a small very late everywhere but at the same time it doesn't feel like a regular temple it's very relaxed it's very free atmosphere with the dogs it just strain. been used to other types of churches and temples i'm confused but the same time i think comfortable. in so relaxed in the chapel even bring the beer at the altar and lean on the virgin mary it's perfectly acceptable here and that isn't just anyone full. she's an elected member of mexico's congress she's been the regular help here for many years. if you assess your looks and know they're there as a member of his family. who will come when you don't. have a yeah i'd rather they go to. the second phase. of this when a few. of you all. of us will be that. voting. say what i'm telling you. i can feel for the last part of the. game. who. were. very. hard to. kill. or executed i believe this is a personal opinion. many times a family no or this relative wife's on what do you want to name it. into. and they do nothing. you just nothing. and that's why this psychologist told me the biggest the bigger the tomb the bigger the guilt. i mean listen this is huge you see deal arms sign over the house or conditioner. bulletproof glass you know any family that is capable of building this kind of tomb they do happen and they do have. what's the use of the parking lot yeah that's the parking lot and if you own cities great for a few. hours it's on. and you get in you can feed easily at least so what think cars here. then cars. maybe while let's say cars here so that gives you an idea. now do you know how much east each load so you can be a year old once like a lotus like the tiny thing. it's about seven thousand dollars more or less. each one of those just a lot just one single space like you see that when you think one space so. close it was about seven thousand dollars just very sound to me. like one of those just one you see that that's like let's say let's say let's say six thousand six thousand six thousand so try to picture how many spaces like these they have to buy to have this you know the whole property. you know do the math. you're almost work reflects the. drug culture he writes and sings ballads called. here's his latest. capitol of contraband. put on. the wood and i got people on the i'm going to. say oh no they don't it good . lord knows. a little something kept what i got out of the year. and it had rolled out of. your acquittal. and i never will see you. i mean that if i didn't. see a moment that it's all. ok yes that's what i mean to be feasible yeah. just get the insanity. out of the. cello get out of. its traditional among local drug dealers the commission and personal courage to the sun and celebrations good friends they can be sun and funerals too to commemorate the subjects achievements which might even be embellished a little habits that narco curry does actually encourages. people use to be. i mean the in the report was a. single law we need all of it and damn it we're going to sit it out a little thought of what i was made to me don't. cost fifty dollars. she went. a little hat on there were. only two words there but i don't know. what politicians to. put themselves on the line to get accepted or rejected. so if you want to be president and she. wanted. to go right to be press it's like the full story of the people. i'm interested in the white house. this should be. the kurdish language has many proverbs one of them has been cited frequently better a cast of one's own then a jointly own. closer the iraqi kurds to being their own shepherd. was selling you on the idea that dropping bombs brings police to the chicken hawks forcing you to fight the battles of. the new socks for the tell you that because of the public less supporters today. doesn't tell you on the cool enough to fight. all the hawks that we along. with watching. the young man cool and this extravagant most ileum would probably have afforded several songs about them and then these julissa lead says she doesn't have much time for america curry dos but admits that they are popular. the family takes it in turns to tend to the mole julian julissa stunt today do you think that. money like me people or. do. you need to know my head and you don't. owe me one but. he asked me what on my deal yes a momentous on one side and yes and we. know you know what i am going to do. there is always something being built here at the garden is still in my cemetery like in a small city new blocks at b. a constantly there is plenty of work for the laborers here even if they do complain about low wages video and think about becoming a drug lord yourself or being a golden drug doctor because business probably you can get much more money than just doing construction work here it's just building graves for those. drug lords look for the two humanity. how much. i don't know yet. even for a movie at the gate. i am a. grand yeah and a little up with no no no what i do you. know and what the. neighborhood to scold must be knows defiance. and this is what i was braced. and this is the house where i was born. yet we simply soaker. against the kid from the old the street which is still number twelve this is. number thirteen and one of the kids that i used to play itself against. was became a drug lord it's very high running. joke for two months i became a journalist among a filmmaker and he became a drug lord i mean how ironic if we only knew when you were a kid if you only knew what it's going to be your life then when he was i'm one of the most wanted men in the war. or a woman eight. months that followed it when i did that for me to let me know that he's been doing the. pain you know the blue line it's you know because i have a family that could lead me in the right direction p.d. having the pint he says she's his father was a deal when he was thirteen years old so he nor fun and you know there was snow on the left. and that's what happened. in the cartels or as well called how young do they start it's real dad sometimes when they are thirteen fourteen years old they start off just from which means the washington scene although not just one single spot. washington is the one emerging market as the soldiers just pass by the day when will you know that there are the ladies going in that direction so it does it's usually when they're stalling to smooth they move a set of the stiletto see. which is like a gunman and then they a star your new movie is rock so it's different steps in the charts of deals and. you know. we don't know how this boy died but he was only sixteen. cardenas still to maya is known locally as the narco cemetery it's where a lot of very young men are buried and that's no surprise to anyone around here about five hundred people a year interred in this prestigious cemetery illegal for many drug trafficking was then lena q patient but nobody talks about that openly it's illegal after all if the deceased had a drug trafficking connection occurring those belled is one way to share his story regardless of criminal activity. many sons can been written about his their. logically what

trump's power to ban travel from certain countries it's to give time for both sides to file fresh cases on the new rules comes after the administration issued a new set of travel restrictions the ban now includes north korea chad venezuela that's on top of expanding the existing list which took in countries like iran libya somalia sudan syria and yemen now president from says that america's safety that's the number one priority and that's the reason for the new measures but the moves already sparked international criticism in london study carney he says even compared donald trump's language to that of islamic state other international reaction venezuela's also slammed the travel ban business will assume. venezuela is open for dialogue with the united states government but if they attack us in any area we will respond in defense of our homeland and of our people iran's also reacted the foreign minister there saying the new travel ban is even more offensive. but threats and president bush singled out. as the axis of evil in his two thousand and two state of the union address. and an export. while the neglected few repressed the iranian people spoke for freed our past time for the nations of the world to confront another reckless regime one that speaks openly of mass murder valor and death to america destruction to israel and ruin for many leaders and nations in this room american policy has largely benefited iran especially the war on terror the u.s. actually helped overthrow iran's greatest enemies saddam hussein in iraq and the sunni taliban regime in afghanistan we have seen a consistent bullying by the united states reserve the. contras such as north korea iran that is their force have backfired we have seen that in the persian gulf region. if. it. may be. iran. region or limb for us and prestige is on the rise and its network of alliances in the region is also as threatening in two thousand and eleven then secretary of state hillary clinton saw turkey as a steadfast u.s. ally and a regional counterbalance to iran and iran would be badly miscalculating if they didn't look at the entire region and all of our presence in many countries in the region both in bases in training with nato allies like turkey. fast forward five years the iranian president hassan rouhani is received in one car with military honors and despite continuous u.s. sanctions on iran the iranian economy seems to be doing just fine so it's not very surprising that iranians aren't particularly bothered by donald trump's fiery rhetoric he done when all took place and we have that have been since the beginning . do we have been under sanctions for four decades and the people of iran are certainly not afraid now in fact sanctions have made iran more independent in many fields as history shows from president bush's era until today american policies intended to harm iran have all backfired perhaps it's all a sign that iran isn't really america's greatest threat and maybe it's time for the u.s. to re-evaluate who its real enemies are. on r.t.e. washington d.c. . new throughout this hour with me calling bright back in thirty if your next global update i'll sing it. kind of financial for one. thing first because it's cash in the three different. oh good that's a good start well we have our three banks all set up something in your something in america something over the cayman islands and it will hold these banks are complicit in the just after all it's a pretty to do some serious movement ok let's see how we did well we've only got a nice luxury washington washington post media the. voters elect a businessman to run this country business equals. boom bust it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. here's what people have been saying about rejected in the senate is full on. the only show i go out of my way to launch you know what it is that really packs a punch. yeah it is the john oliver of r t america is doing the same we are apparently better than. the c. people you've never heard of love down to the next president of the world bank so very. seriously send us an e-mail. welcome back to the program the president of the european commission has delivered his state of the union address in strassburg he started by thanking any twenty seven of the twenty eight members of the e.u. despite the fact the u.k. will continue to be part of the plot for another one and a half years and for britain instead of funks he had a warning. on march the twenty ninth two thousand one team in the united kingdom will leave the e.u. it will be a sad and tragic moment. we will always regret this and you will regret it quite suit. at the end of the address everyone got up and applauded except for a group of british army pays among them the hard core brags a tear for our show but it wasn't just the new kit members that gave younker a frosty welcome. but the european union is not europe and europe is not the european union. wants to force the european union to become a single state yet we know that the euro is not a success story we have extraordinary levels of unemployment and social instability . with the german general election now less than two weeks away western media have been busy trying to track down russian hackers who as they assume should have already started meddling in the european powerhouses vote. in a washington post article one security expert is quoted as saying that it just doesn't feel right that the russians haven't struck yet the report as the reason may be that germany's nailed the art of cyber security it also states that no evidence of any attempted meddling has actually been detected artie's jacqueline takes a closer look at the story. if you haven't been in a coma for the past year you've likely heard a thing or two about alleged russian interference and america's recent presidential election the cia has concluded russian hackers intervened in the u.s. election with the purpose of helping donald trump when packing and leaking that the administration says the russians carried out connect the dots russia did it and while those claims were never backed up by any solid evidence just a lot of speculation and hearty assurances that hasn't stopped the world from pointing the finger at moscow and also predicting that the big bad kremlin would do the same again in europe the russian hacker

washington washington post media the media over voters elected to businessman to run this country business equals power you must it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. all the world's a stage and all the news companies merely players but what kind of parties are in t. america play party america offer much more artsy american personal. many ways the music landscape is just like the real news big news good actors bad actors and in the end you could never you're on. so much parking all the world all the world's all the world's a stage and we are definitely a player. just. one. for the real. world according to. bad good i've got more to say that ever so what it is the world according to jesse well you know just after sit tight and find out because the show starts. the war. machine. governor it's been over two years since our last show and now we're here starting the very first episode of this new show kicking it off right here in the nation's capital we're going to be airing every week on r t america on fridays at seven thirty pm and ten pm eastern so we'll also be available on you tube and facebook but most importantly for thirty minutes every week our viewers are going to get to see and hear from you completely unscripted and uncensored so tell us how is this show going to be different from everything else on t.v. well first of all because you. it's going to be dangerous because if they're hearing from me people need to know and especially international people who is jesse ventura who is this guy well i'll give you a quick scenario who i am i graduated from minneapolis roosevelt high school i immediately join the united states navy i served four active two in the reserves and i am a member of the big bad u.d.t. seal community naval special forces i then went on to a fifteen year career in the world of professional wrestling for all you spanish people it's called libra and then i went on from there to become the mayor of the sixth largest city in the state of minnesota brooklyn park beyond bad i served one term i then became the thirty eighth governor of minnesota but the key to jesse ventura's this i am not a democrat i am not a republican i am an independent i don't belong to either one of these gangs i despise them both equally so when you hear me talk about democrats and republicans you will always know you're getting the truth for me because i owed them nothing in fact bridgette of a fear me they fear if i would come back in that political arena again because i'm too an old boy they've never beat me yet and so that's who jesse ventura is i'm also worldly i'm a one percenter can explain that to us well a real one percenter doesn't mean you're some rich guy from wall street a real one percenter means you are a outlaw biker and jesse ventura also has that on his resume so what i bring forward is worldly experience on the job training but yet i've held office governor and mayor most of these talking heads you run into they've never held political office bruges they haven't. them on both sides are here of our goals the democrats and republicans are let me say this i love my country but i believe like thomas jefferson said you have to be vigilant you have to hold your government feet to the fire to have a good government that's what i do i despise hypotheses and on this show bruges you know we're going to show a lot of hype ocracy because i will make you uncomfortable people i will take you out of your comfort zone you may not like that but you will need it you need to be out of your comfort zone so that you could understand what mainstream media shoved down your throat today all right governor everything in the news is russia russia russia but what about all the foreign elections the united states has interfered in i don't want to keep talking about the elections like everybody else on mainstream media but i want to do what you said and address the hypocrisy here between one hundred forty six and two thousand the united states has committed electoral misconduct and at least eighty one elections across forty five countries and that's twenty two percent of the world according to researchers at carnegie mellon university this includes elections in iran guatemala yugoslavia and she lay to name a few and it does not include any attempts for coups or regime change which would bring that number even higher now this study shows that most of america's meddling occurred during the cold war while the united states was trying to contain soviet influence but even after the collapse of the soviet union in one thousand nine hundred one the us has continued its electoral misconduct in fact since two thousand the us has attempted to sway elections in ukraine kenya lebanon afghanistan and more and while the united states the sanction in russia over election meddling the united states has never been sanctioned itself for similar behavior so governor why in the world is it ok for the united states to do this interference but not for anybody else. that's what our government is built of our. do is i say not as i do now i remember they told us when this whole russian thing started which i'll tell you i don't believe it. where's the proof they talk about these are the same people that took us to war in iraq and told us there were weapons of mass destruction and ties to al qaeda untrue lie took us to war this is the same intelligence that gave us the gulf of tonkin incident in vietnam now that's been proven a lie now people are expecting me to believe this after i've been lied to by my government on things of war that have really put us into two fifteen year wars based on lies and now i'm supposed to believe because they told me so that russia interfered in our election well first of all people let's take a little history lesson here if we may you don't elect your president anyway do you know you don't the electoral college a lacks the president not the people so unless russia interfered in the electoral college and got a hard core democrat or hard core republican to change their electoral vote how can they possibly say they interfered in our election because it's their system of our election with the electoral college wouldn't even allow it to happen and get it out there telling us it did this also goes into the myth of american exceptionalism everything that you're talking about with these war is lying to us to go and america is great and it is holier than thou yeah i mean were they told us that one point that interfering in our election was an act of war well then there's forty five countries out there whatever that number you said who should be declaring war on the united states because we've interfered in elections are you kidding me that's standard operating procedure at the central intelligence agency interfering is interfering in a country is attempting to kill another leader does that count how many times that we try to kill castro and think they did not count that in that so that number what . to be much higher but you see and so we're out there doing all of this stuff now we're going to put sanctions on russia why united states of america do you want to go the cold war again you know there was a there was a poll done by gallup a couple of years ago and they asked two thousand i think people outside the u.s. and one of the questions was if you went to war today who do you think it would most likely be against twenty three percent said the united states of america eight said china six said spackle stand russia wasn't even in the top three so i as a veteran in looking at that hang my head to shame and gov the rest of the world thinks that the us is who they'll be fighting but that's the leadership we have we are a war based country now and obviously they want us out war all the time how can you name any president who hasn't had his own war to oversee know they all get on they all over it war is continuous we have a war culture now and when it starts winding down they look for new places to go to war look at the ok let's get out it's a little different subject here but they're always trying to take my weapons my arms are second amendment right well i got news for you us government you can start taking my guns when you quit selling weapons of mass destruction and war throughout the rest of the world we are the biggest gun dealer in the world the united states of america so how dare them say to me give up your second amendment rights while were shovelling weapons everywhere around the world to go to war all the time do you think trump is going to start a war do i think trump will start a war i don't know but we sure seem to be itching for one i mean the cold war has ended my position is simple my mom my dad and mom both fought in world war two my mom taught. my dad i should say talked about when he got to berlin the friendship he'd had with the russians and yet it was done before the war was even over they've been our enemy for how long now the entire cold war i got an idea let's try being friends with russia try it for five years we can always go back to being enemies but let's try friendship let's see what we could accomplish going with russia instead and now we're opposing them again and you hear mitch mcconnell say russia is not our friend what have they done. what has russia done to incur our wrath have a different form of government well that's their call isn't it what they want to be and what kind of government they want to be and so to me it is utterly absurd that we are out there bringing the cold war again and our mainstream media who is supposed to be the fourth branch of government they're not anymore they're bought sold and they carry the water for what ever it is the government wants to accomplish no to any final thoughts here final thoughts i'm just beginning but i know we've got to go to break don't we pretty much and i know you'll do that to me . right when i'm on a roll you'll said you know right now i'm about to interrupt you red silk a though all right stay tuned after the short break we're joined by t.v. hosts and commentator ed schultz to talk more about media hysteria. the war. for decades the american middle class has been railroaded by washington politics. big money corporate interests that's drowned out a lot of boys that's how it is in the news culture in this country now that's where i come in. i mean it's still on our to america i'll make sure you don't get railroaded you'll get the straight talk in the straight news. questionable. rejected tonight is a comedy new sold it is not the fangs by the corporate media. would you go after the corporations that just more your lives profit over people at every turn. redacted tonight for me it's like medicine it's like a cancer joke from all the stress that the news puts you under redacted tonight is a show where you can go to cry from laughing about the stuff that's going on in the world as opposed to just regular crying we're going to find out what the corporate mainstream media is not telling you about how we're going to filter it through some satirical comedic lenses to make it more digestible that's what we do every week hard hitting radical comedy news like redacted tonight is

washington washington post media the media. voters elected a businessman to run this country business equals power who must it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. the mission of news with you is to go to the people tell their side of the story our stories are well sourced we don't hide anything from the public and i don't think the mainstream media in this country can say that any average viewer knows that r.t. america has a different perspective so that we're not hearing one echo chamber that mainstream media is constantly spewing. we're not beholden to any corporate sponsor no one tells us what to cover how long the coverage or how to say it that's the beauty of archie america. we hear both sides we hear from both sides and we question more that journalists are not letting anything get in your way to bring it home to the american people. all the world this and all the news companies merely players but what kind of parties are into america on. so much parking all the world's a stage all the world's a stage all the world's a stage and we are definitely a player. with chris adams. welcome back to on contact let's get back to our conversation with former village voice writers michael musto and tom robbins so there are stories i think. you would both argue that could only appear in a publication like the voice they were not going to appear in the new york times the daily news others sure i mean the new york times was saying the word homosexual said of gay for a long time there were certain like club and barn names that the times wouldn't even say without asterisks i was out there just writing and telling the truth or running outrageous pictures very naughty stories sexy stories about what was really happening in the nightlife but the times has caught up they have styles of the times i write for write and of course what i write for them it's much more regimented i have to go through an edit where they suck up a little style but they make it more for their format which makes perfect sense and works in that format i mean part of it's the covers i mean they still have the most outrageous one of my favorite covers was who do you have to blow in this city to get gay marriage and oh it was with a condom i mean i like that kind of reverence irreverence i think it's great and that was also it's a matter of not just the content but the stock. it was you almost kind of flipping your finger at the establishment you know those are the pride and joy in the paper was to be able to do that on a weekly basis and what have you doing i mean in the eighty's when ed catches administration at city hall got mired in one mini scandal after another ultimately ending up in a giant scandal the voice was the only one started plugging away at it and it was a little there a prosecutor was barrett it was no field it was myself it was best known there was joe conason there was a whole team of people who were working on those stories at the time but eventually when prosecutors started poking around and then the daily papers woke up and said ok you know this is something we're going to start chasing down but i think that's sort of the definition of an alternative paper which was that we saw a city hall is a fault we didn't see it as something that we were looking to get along with we so . it is an obstacle to citizen participation and you know the root of lots of the problems in the city and our coverage sort of went along with it how do you both assess and i think we're all roughly the same generation how do you assess what's happened in the last few decades to journalism in the united states. i think it's more of a present than ever i am much more informed than i was when i started my column in eighty four thanks to the internet so i'm not complaining about the instant access information that's out there journalism is simply change venues the fact is people can't pay the writers unfortunately the same amount that they did in the in the heyday of print that's not going to happen but the reason for that as i say is because it's everywhere now everyone has a website and of course in the eighty's i was competing against eight or nine local gossip columnists for my work and now i'm competing against the entire world because everyone has a blog a facebook page twitter instagram i wish it were true you know i may be in your field it is michael in mine you know i've been pretty parochial i've been i was new york based and i wrote about new york and that's the area which is completely been eclipsed in terms of certainly in the daily papers but also in the internet you know in other words local coverage of what goes on inside of musicality is the one that's really completely full and oh well we've seen i mean as as newsprint has with. all those reporters who covered police city all of them paul they're not even even on the web chris i mean you know print politico is the new york branch politico and why new york you know they're one of the major players now at this point and yet if you want to get their in-depth stuff in they have a lot of good reporters there is a paywall which is very steep the library can even afford to get it it's that much money so they're writing now online good stuff but it's for lobbyists you know it's for developers it's for a politician's it's for people who actually have a personal stake in the outcome as opposed to the citizenry and that's the older boys nominate the village voice is still going to exist as a web site so why can't they carry on the tradition of what the boys did in the mud and i wish i knew the answer i wish i knew the answer but they certainly have not made it something that they want to change i just read their story about the mayoral race sitting in the green room here you know it was a very lovely written story. but it had zero edge to it well they don't have the staff i mean you know you were talking before its heyday you you had you packed three floors of that building i mean part of and we just saw again more layoffs at the new york times that and i told you before we went on the air i was before the philadelphia inquirer sold its building they had seven hundred fifty reporters and editors they were down to around two hundred i mean three quarters of their desks of the newsroom with empty and by the way the voice was union provided us with a lot of benefits and we just heard from the union that among the layoffs in the transition to web only thirteen out of seventeen union members are going to be gone . including the entire bargaining committee i mean is there a place one of the things that we've seen with the decline of newsprint is you could argue that in terms of the profession it's hurt the most are cartoonists i mean you had jules feiffer you had three or four amazing cartoonists no more mark outstanding. stand down tomorrow and matt groening that bernie had is the original well there's always the new yorker right up. there very good to kurtz and you know i would just say this i don't know what was jules feiffer first book six six six was that. i just don't say that in terms of the argument that the endless internet is going to compensate for the what the one problem there is that reporters i know who write for publications that are on the internet are told to write stories that people want to read they're measured by the number. and it's this incredibly tyrannical you know rule by our eyes if i had to you know depend on my livelihood by the number of people who clicked on my stories i would have started the other the other point is if you're doing investigative piece it's not like doing a daily piece you still have to pay the rent you still have to you know and you know as you know these are incredibly laborious projects and that's what worries me the most is what's happening to investigators. the biggest danger of the internet i agree is the fact that they can monitor traffic and that no matter what site you go to whether it's a political site or an entertainment site they're talking about kim kardashian because that gets clicks but i only write for sites that let me write whatever i want and when i sign on i say you don't care about traffic do you i do get great traffic but that's not your thrust and they always say no we just want stuff that's good for our site so that's what i provide i think there's still room somebody's going to realize there is going to be great traffic in muckraking journalism what about the. the fact that journalism the number one the fusion between news and kind of celebrity coverage i mean there's not they're not bifurcated anymore and also this kind of the kind of reporting which is maybe it's too harsh to call it gossip but it's it's all about the players within washington within the power elites within the court it is macmaster out what is bannon's relations how do you i guess how do you both look at that it's always been an occupational hazard very and we've always had folks who made it their business to simply be court you know observers and try to tell you who's coming and going and you know the hope was that there would be other people who are down in the trenches you know doing real work about the business of government and reading the documents and looking at the federal register and trying to figure out what contracts are million given away to what cronies. but it's there's no question but that as the news hole is struck that the kind of journalism you're talking about is taken dominance you know i would argue whatever you think about the quality is that in the wake of trump you know. the national media is making a good run at trying to figure out how to cover this from an investigative perspective you know i think sometimes they go off track bu

washington the washington post media the media the voters elected to run this country business equals power. bust it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. german interests european interests are really deeply intertwined with each other i think. the world. having interests. to. one side has to work with the opposite. that's really exactly the world. isn't relevant to the. program hollywood star morgan freeman has targeted russia and then usual suppose it meddling in the us presidential election we have been attacked we are. at war imagine this movie script a former k.g.b. spy angry at the collapse of his mother and plots of course. the sights on his from. the united states. to stand by and this is no. the clip from the committee to investigate a new group created by artists but question marks are being raised behind the project. takes a closer look. hollywood legend morgan freeman has those stranger to dramatic movie scripts like this one welcome to the cia course at the time of increasing tension in the traditional american tradition american to fight each other. to suspect the truth playing a cia director at the center of a tense standoff between the usa and a hardline russian president sound familiar it seems the boundaries between. hollywood fantasy and real life politics are increasingly blurring indeed freeman himself supported hillary clinton's presidential bid her life's work has been about breaking barriers and so would her presidency now he's waving to the russian election hacking scandal his latest video is part of a new initiative called the committee to investigate russia a lot of pretty big names from the film and media industry such as hollywood director rob reiner teaming up with the government elites as if the multiple investigative committees already looking into alleged russian meddling weren't enough here's a team of true patriots the media does talk about it a lot and for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be penetrating into what we what i refer to as the real americans i mean patriotic americans that wave the flag and speaking of patriots rob reiner has made it pretty clear what he himself thinks of donald trump's supporters how do you explain the millions and millions of people who actually like would be hear from donald trump and are taking messages and orders from us in the media how do you explain that what we do there are a lot of people who are racist are my guy position is clear here's another member of the committee a familiar face to those following the russia u.s. election hacking saga james clapper former director of national intelligence investigated moscow's meddling but didn't find enough evidence to prove collusion between the trump campaign and russian foreign nationals but he's still convinced the russians did it after all it's in their blood the russians who typically. genetically driven to co-opt. purgatory to. gain favor or whatever so we await their latest findings perhaps one day they will be the subject of their very own hollywood blockbuster. a crime and spokesperson downplayed the video as can be misled of the once actually going on media analyst line allowed in some context to the story. of. apparently seeking revenge for the collapse of his country against what the united states that caused this but then we have a group of people a couple of neo cons and intelligence head who said that the n.s.a. never spied and his people said that there was no wiretapping of of trump or anybody in his news group you had the individual mr frome who came up with that classic axis of evil and then you have the most preposterous cobbled together glued series of how by virtue of this revenge russia yet again somehow caused this election to be hacked or lost or whatever absolving hillary clinton of just losing it wasn't her fault and the sixty three or so american million americans who voted for drop they were part of a brainwashing some weird kind of telepathy that from the kremlin where people all the sudden found themselves like robots voting for donald trump for reasons they don't know why hollywood imbues certain people with this sense of expertise and everything they are actor they play roles they inhabit positions that they're not they're almost chameleon and all of a sudden when given the opportunity to do so they become experts at hollywood has fallen from the only tom green clamping down on moscow as u.s. lawmakers issued a bill that could block russian broadcasters from being shown in the u.s. it could allow u.s. content providers to break their contracts leaving bashing channels without any legal recourse samir khan takes up the story. amendments was proposed by senator john mccain and could potentially create a major barrier for russian channels broadcasting in the u.s. it would not require distributors to carry content from television networks owned or controlled by the russian government the proposal is bundled into a defense spending bill if this becomes law it could jeopardize current contracts between russian channels and u.s. distributors could potentially impact our t.v. which broadcasts in the us back in january r.t. was singled out in an intelligence report which accused the network of trying to sway the us presidential election in donald trump's favor the report however contained no evidence whatsoever only citing what's viewed as a negative reporting on hillary clinton r t is also a regular topic at senate hearings russia today a propaganda call them whatever are probably going to or the russian propaganda on steroids or again of the russian government i don't know whether average citizens find it more persuasive but. you know i'm afraid they do in the area of public diplomacy. russia eats our lunch it's also worth noting that there are several foreign governments who funded channels in the us to including france twenty four which is fully owned by the french government all jazeera owned by qatar also a b.b.c. which is funded by fees set by the british government but russia is the only one targeted so as always russia seems to be getting special attention. as the mayor pointed out the amendments part of the national defense authorization act but the bombshell plan is buried deep inside the multi-page document the part about russia's summarized in just a few lines between details on funding of the us military sector experts told us all this is no coincidence the defense bill often has thing stuck in it have nothing to do with the fence it's like that's how congress gets things done that they wouldn't be able to just do. as a freestanding bill because it would be too ridiculous or it would have too much opposition so they stick it in the defense bill figuring that the whole damn thing will get passed to members of congress don't read the bills and so. but it really could slip past most of the members completely. presumably they have staff people that read it better but they don't read it there's an obsession on capitol hill and in the mainstream media with with r t because argues it's active in our two years watched but also in this is very important because our t. carries perspectives that are not available on the mainstream media the fact of the matter is john mccain and lindsey graham the people behind this amendment the atlantic council and the others that are trying to silence art they are the totalitarians they are the enemies of free speech they are the enemies of the first amendment they don't want anyone coming on television saying that america's foreign policy is a disaster it is broken it is making us. more vulnerable to attack and it's costing a fortune they cannot stand competition in the area of ideas so rush is not only the flavor of the mob just the flavor of the year you know there is that obsession there is the investigate russia committee or a bunch of hollywood liberals got together with a bunch of neo corns and are finding the reds under our beds there's a hysteria going on in america i still would like to believe that the emergent average american thinks it's absolutely nuts i hope it stays that way hopefully this will blow over at some point in our blowouts. the critically acclaimed drug gang drama narcos has crossed from fiction to a brutal reality after washington the washington post media the media. and voters elected to businessman to run this country business equals power who must it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. and we're back with sound minister for a european affairs discussing italy's place in the european union and the euro zone welcome back mr gati now. one hundred fourteen italian banks out of five hundred are in deep trouble that's according to italian newspaper and saw italy could start bailing out the banks with public funds but that goes against the e.u. bailing out rules now should the government just go ahead without brussels approval or show daily wait until the e.u. comes up with some kind of solution. to europe we do believe that there are some of the existing directory the bank can say we. have to be revised because they implemented in different ways in different counties this means that to all those the. doors. are very efficient and we do believe that on one side we have to intervene and to dwell upon it at national level on the other side there must be also review and i know the european commission is working on that. with the directive because they're banking restructuring with the european union now they had of the euro group talking about the bailouts in general he sat that southern countries quote blew their money on drinks and women is that what happened to italy as well. well i mean i think that the least that we can see of the statement of a year on buys them blown that was very unfortunate. that it proved that it's not adequate for the sportster and i hope with that there will be a change of very soon. what is not what that been seen by county but that was what you are referring to it is a very unfortunate that creation we do not have anything to see with a konami creativity of counter. but only with. a stupid. you would never expect from. an important body like the euro group but he das chair that body can be here is only when move forward if that's how the richard northern states understand south of problems i mean it's not like people in the north don't drink and sleep with women or something you know. well honestly i wouldn't waste your time and my time in talking about the booze and women. because i do not think that this is the point everybody criticised the year on the rise and blown the chair of the euro group for that it is clear that during the. war. the measure i have produced is what i distrust and what we have to do now is. the confidence to be them with confidence between the south encounter and i think between that trade the counter is the mania of the future divisions or division produced by stupid statement all stereotypes made the one you were referring to and the time is counted on the page and i do believe that we must and we can and in to a new phase because it is in the interest of everybody and certainly i mean that this guy and. i know about that really i mean there are so stupid that i do not think that we should take them very seriously all right so let's talk about more serious staying stuck the latest solution to the problems have been a two speed europe which is in essence proposing two different systems for europe i mean one for those who want more integration another for those who don't but one that is pretty much for a clean union down instead of saving it. it is a union of twenty seven member state and you know which is going to grow because i do believe that after twenty nineteen new newark counters from the west and bottoms will join the european union where in this kind of fuel it is. an illusion to think that we proceed all together at the same rate theme with the same intensity toward the same direction this year that there would be some county which would be satisfied with a single market and something more and that. we decide to deepen their integration to reach new common objectives that says a more efficient the security and defense bodies of the union or a truly social union or a must stronger must stronger body to run immigration and to counter the threat of terrorism sure i got i got your point but what this multispeed here are mean that states who are more integrated it will be they was deciding things like well the decision making may in the hands of germany and france while the rest play catch up no i mean the german the french german capital belongs to the story. i mean it is clear that it is necessary that there is an agreement between berlin and paris but is absolutely not sufficient anymore. i think it is very clear in the two capitals. because it is clear that we have to create a critical mass we see goes well beyond france and germany for second the i mean it is not that more and more integrated can't decide for the other it is the other we decide not to be in the more integrated group of countries because they condition to create this group of country which will go faster we'll be on the only condition would be political will so the door must be open to everybody willing to join and so also we want to be in the group it is because they have decided not to be in the group and if you decide not to be in the group it is clear that you decide not to decide if you decide to stay out how do you make sure that they last integrated members don't boycott the decisions made by those at the top out of spite or out of fear of being marginalized for example. well i mean politically legally it is very difficult that they can do so. legally because at the end of the day according to the treaties a group of country can move if it wants so once that some project will be launched by nine or ten countries you will see there would be a majority of county it was going we'd be willing to join and there would be a very tiny minority of downed trees we decided to stay out and i'm sure about these after all these been the way europe was founded and europe as advanced because if nine hundred fifty seven the six european democracies decided the two found that the european union had to wait for the other democracies nothing would have happened if. twenty twenty two thousand and one the twelve counties would introduce the euro had to wait for whole the other the euro wouldn't be a reality so these as always being their way of promoting the big project in europe and i'm confident that it might work also in the future. so first it was the hearers and crisis and the migrant crisis and now you have sat back said it's the latest crisis what europe is facing but britain has always kept its distance and e.u. matters i mean it's style some important common decisions that zach said have the potential to actually reinforce the e.u. . for some project and for some initiatives probably know it is going to be must easier to go toward a certain direction for example the. policy we're talking about before the defense and security policy with out of the union i do believe that is going to be easier or less difficult to do it through the european defense policy and this is certainly could be a positive side effect of the u.k. departure what i want to say that i would have preferred the brits to stay in the union but it is also true that the brits well never been never been fully within the you know they've always. only said one step in and whilst about now they decided to take the two steps out of the union and they do believe that owns certain projects of the on some highly. political potential could be easier without the brits to move it i want to talk about a latest news in turkey a country that's long been in the line to become an e.u. member present and the gun just want a referendum which has granted him sweeping new powers now adding i is saying hey strengthening cherokees democracy but i mean austria and germany and other countries have already sat this closes the door on terror kiss your membership is this going to be the final straw but i do believe that. any. was hoping for a. success in this referendum. ended up with a split country with. fifty one percent in favor of reform forty nine percent against is there for the three major turkish cities again the reform of the majority. most backward the region of in favor of the reform so i mean it is clear that it is a very difficult situation so i think we have a problem i think we have a major political problem i do believe that we must first of the dialogue with the european we must preserve the. because after all there is a forty nine percent of people who voted no we have to do with europe because it is an important power and it is important because the it is a member of nato because it is a member of the council of europe but it's clear that what has happened during the campaign the content of this reform represent a major political problem the attitude of president ever gone to war europeans represent a major political problem and is provocation output that he used this and there are only complicated our bilateral relations but the question is for the e.u. is it worth losing a potential partner in the middle east i mean the only country that could really help the union deal with a migrant crisis. what i was was i told you that you have to have a dialogue with your team. about the dialogue doesn't mean to hide they all stand in political problem that you know about the relations south of the migration agreement is an important agreement it is war king there are some else but which should be improved but it is working and be we should to continue to implement it but these cannot. face with major political problems it is clear as a seed. import on the neighboring county it these. days you position these members of important organization so we must first of the dialogue with surety about. a dialogue with the county doesn't mean not to be front and wholeness with the government and ice i repeat the attacks the provocations repeated attacks of procreation off aired on the world there will be a union i have been told by the understandable uncomprehensible they might have had during the campaign i hope that it is over now i hope that we see is no hope that would stop now because they are not helping go about their relations not in my opinion that not being the turkish government. all right mr that's a thank you very much for this century or talking to sound or god say italian european affairs minister talking about a speech error in the here opinion and that's it for this edition of. i'm becoming someone who can hahaha. one on one hand. only dealing with people blowing them up with. the. local wal-mart selling you on the idea that dropping bombs brings police to the chicken hawks forcing you to fight the battles that still. washington the washington post media the media the. voters elect a businessman to run this country business because. you must it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. i was always told this is ground in iraq and syria the fate of the children of foreign militants is in question a few days ago there were new arrivals at an orphanage in baghdad and as in previous cases most of the children appeared to be scarred by their experiences they were taken care of by the teenage sister who was married to a minister and while there's no argument that children should be allowed to return . deciding the fate of the wives of fighters is a deeply divisive issue. we have no idea what cons they have committed or may have committee that so i don't think they should be allowed back in the lake be rehabilitated they usually do when they chose to go out there actually i think we've got to sort out the war criminals who have been responsible for them crimes you talk of the talking about the women i think it's right that we screen them we find out what they've been involved in or why they made a decision to go out and actually that could be used as a good resource in terms of gathering intelligence do you honestly think that somebody is committed any kind of atrocity is going to hold their hands up and you have absolutely no way of knowing whether they did or whether they didn't they're not going to admit to it so i'm sorry what do you take that risk with the women and children in this country when we couldn't bring in a mean and they could be telling as yes we we've had a change of heart we realize we shouldn't have done a we didn't commit any crime they come in in the you know you've got a plot for another terror attack in this country while the vast majority of terrorist plots and the terrorist activity that we've seen over these dreadfully seen over these past few months here in london or manchester are actually a whole growing problems they're not people who. called from outside decided. that actually it with your replies by people radicalized by isis and their ideology of violence or through the internet. preachers. we have to divide to close these people we have to make sure that they had. a letter hired somebody who may have taken that i was ready to come on there's a slight difference i'm not talking about people beheading people if they've been involved in dog how was i know if i heard there was criminal are they how do you know they should be held to account for their war crimes we can't know about children how did you learn of people who are not what i how old they are i gave them homemade how do you know what i see how do you know that they are and that's exactly the point how do you know that they are an icon community we will not know three thousand five hundred jihad is on a watch list in this country is three thousand five hundred extremists in this country right now the police have said they don't know where they all made the police have said that they do not know what the cone by his own admission is said he doesn't know how many idea where any of them are what you are talking about is somebody if i came to you and i had been and committed some atrocity but i swore to you or how to. how would you prove that i had or i hadn't you come up with one way or the other and i'm sorry i used the law is not judging you can have the law of the jungle we have with you. bring it back and those laws have to take their process i weeded out the point you have to make very clear yes if we don't you know we don't find any blood guilty without which you process and we have to go through that process so there are there are terrorism laws there are processes in which the intelligence agencies of police should be able to follow. the two thousand british football fans have descended on the russian capital for european champions of the matches liverpool supporters got a warm welcome on tuesday for their match with spartak moscow ahead of the game that ended in a one all draw the hosts handed out warm blankets and souvenir t. shirts was part of a campaign called gentle family russian warm welcome which kicked off a new city of rostov last march of the day it's the turn of manchester united but before the british football fans even flew out to russia the media at home was giving them plenty of warnings on what they might expect many showed videos of hooligans and repeated that it is dangerous and unsafe to travel to russia so we've been out to ask the fans themselves about their own experiences. the russian people are very very nice very good warm welcome the move was aboard the silicon valley gold jewelry let it go for a joy bolton generally was faithful very very safe one washington the washington post media the media. the voters elected the businessman to run this country business equals. boom bust it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. welcome to me sophie shevardnadze the north korea nuclear crisis is testing the result of all the international community by the permanent members of the u.n. security council still struggling to agree on a common strategy will the world's powers find a way out of the crisis and can the united nations serve its purpose and prevent all out war while. the united nations. is my guest today. north korea's nuclear test sending the world into crisis mode the syrian war in full swing and the world's super powers my. distrust the united nations is left standing as the only place where emotions can be cooled and peaceful solutions hammered out but can't step up to the challenge elevations of corruption and inefficiency how can the international body regain the global trust and off already have enough clout to make sure the world does not descend into conflict. russia's envoy to the united nations mr newman it's good to have you in our program welcome it's our first so going to start right away russia's u.n. delegation is dealing with several pressing issues right now namely the north korean nuclear crisis with a country reporting and conduct of the hydrogen bomb tests now at the latest security council session and you said that a military solution to the crisis is impossible but do you seriously think any calls for a military solution go beyond emotions or populism i mean does anyone seriously want war. hello so fickle nice to be with you i hope they are not we have the next throw of the security council meeting. on the test and everybody everybody strongly condemned that it was indeed a flagrant violation of low previous security council resolutions almost good here including the latest on the twenty three seventy one you know nobody i believe once military solution everybody won once the crisis the debate is all peacefully but the problem is that recipes for to differ. some countries some ground that is like the united states france japan u.k. south korea and others say we need to impose new set of sanctions on the got a key to deprive them of the means to develop their nuclear ballistic missile test program and to bring them back to the english a negotiating table so we get out of sight as we went to russia and china that we're going to actually get to the sanctions before we talk for size play about the sanctions that are proposing we're russia's position is that further sanctions on p.r. neon will not work i mean let me or putin says north koreans would rather eat grass than give up nukes right so if calls for restraint aren't changing anything and neither does sanctions obviously how well's do you get out this mess. yes indeed sanctions unfortunately do not work first day i ignored secondly they have been long time factor the certainly. new set of sanctions may be motivation to the negotiating negotiating table but that of the new new for the essence we are stressing one the political and diplomatic solution. china and russia has already proposed even in july an action plan to solve the crisis with an initiative on double suspension which was going to study criticised by mickey hated by the way i do don't know what she found so insulting in that then she said that as she said if she has something better than the new sanctions maybe the united states could come out with it we would only welcome it we would welcome any efforts and then initiatives to start the genie and let on the bow of the swiss initiatives we would welcome the efforts of the secretary general anybody can help but like you've sat there americans are actually opposing the strategy proposed by russia and china do using it stands a real chance with america opposing it. what what is the option i mean if they want it should be completely excluded because the consequences will be too dire and they may seeing that they still deny time for that but it's never it's never too early to start the process so why are your he one partners insisting on further sanctions on north korea if the sanctions clearly are not working what is the point. that's exactly the question that we're asking them in the security council nikki haley gave was a history lesson in all of us security council resolutions on deep got to be it built that and not working that exactly proves the point so like you said you some bastard to the u.n. said that north korea is begging for war and called for the toughest measures possible against it does in north korea is ready for that. we never do is that it is not to pick through the common weal i would say the international community rejecting it so i don't see why this should be they should be forthcoming now with the new sanctions as which they can see that to be insulting to them so it will look at it from the north korean side and if they are not ready for this war why are they so defiant of the international community what makes them so brave. that's not to be the question that they should address to me. because i think that you you bet them that actually. or at least early how there are they any and i think right i mean you can't not think of what makes this guy so sure that you can do what he's doing what is the answer that you find for yourself when you ask that question. wow we understand what all the motives because their world has shown evidence of what happened to those leaders that voluntarily voluntarily gave up their nuclear programs and maybe that is also affected the and in what they're doing which is not denied in any way. of course of course the stakes are being raised to high by by all parties by all sides in fact you know there are other crisis and the world rushes un mission house to deal with just recently you proposed a resolution concerning a peacekeeping mission in mr new crate now the claim president has talked about deploying peacekeepers for a long time but kim isn't happy about moscow's proposal what is the difference between the two approaches and why do you feel yours is better. thought about bald ideas floating. vaiko vague talk about certain peacekeeping mission in ukraine that was by by key if for some time but we we have taken that as a disguise to implemented the minsk agreement because the only plausible solution to the guys at the moment agreement indorsed by the un resolutions we un security council resolution so we didn't didn't hear anything definitive all conclusive from them on the peacekeeping mission while oh a proposal is based first of all on the. twenty two zero twelve twenty fifteen which means the package of measures to implement the minsk agreement it is a aimed solely at the at protecting the special motivating mission of the ois sea observers the lie the factual content is not in thrust that there was any political or or or other. because these stocks belong to the established formants like like the s m m always see which i mentioned or they go into group or the normandy formant. i want to move on to syria because it will be part of the discussion at the general assembly french president mannion that close says fighting terrorism is the priority right now so i figure it seems like the assad must go rest is not the dominant stance anymore has something changed in how your you and colleagues view the situation. it can not but it made it even though reluctantly by those who didn't want to be did that this occasion on the ground in syria is changing and then it is changing for the better. you know that the process led by. the turkey has led to the separate from though this three day escalation is a zones. where life is coming back to normal work humanitarian aid people with the forces old and being being negotiated. at that in that. possess in syria. with every day the situation is changing you can multi cannot deny it but we can see the political horizon in the city and prizes we need more political life but because a solution can only put be political and i mean you that were working that yes that it. has changed in the security council and the u.n. in general best and why why do you feel like the russian iranian and turkish efforts to advance to peace process in syria are more efficient than those that are let by the united nations i didn't compare the efficiency i said that these two processes to me individually i'm quartering them because it's pretty obvious that the efforts undertaken by the three countries are much more efficient than those they've been undergoing for years now by the un so why do you think because i think ours is more efficient why do you think it's more efficient. i don't think i hope again the branding them with more official and less efficient i'm just saying that these efforts. play here and i'm going to be good to the geneva process very much by by creating conditions for for the geneva forces led by the you have to succeed. all right fair enough i want to move on to what's going on inside the united nations president trump recently wrote on his twitter that the u.n. is just a club for people to get together talk to have a good time that's a quote is that just another populist announcement from trump or is the u.n. really losing relevance. well he was most far from the truth indeed the us is a good place to meet people and have a good time but that's not all of all do you have of course un these are not good ization multifaceted they're going to work in mobile not only in peace and security but in many other areas. which which should not have anything instead of us it is very active in the economic and social area it is doing human rights it is doing the law it has planted over the specialist agencies in various fields of activities un is a very busy place and the very important one because for people who aren't directly placated and u.n. work observers like myself it does seem like you know mostly what u.n. is doing is resolutions resolutions resolutions and that's the only thing that can really get done. that that's not little that's not little the. these words that is being done by the lead to great results in fact you know that the new u.n. secretary general of tennessee he has embarked on the on the form of their going his asian proposing proposing in so-called repositioning of the united nations system to make it more effective and closer to the present day challenges these. this is a thread that will full late the during the general assembly this fall we're waiting for the for the proposals to materialize but the threat. is very interesting one to make the united nations more donovan's or rather bassett or we're going to take a short break right now and when we're back we'll be discussing their recent diplomatic route between russia and the u.s. stay tuned. years ago i traveled across. exploring america's. bad guy trying to get to one of my family members he would have. published in the. us. this is a middle school we go through drills we put ourselves in real scenarios it was interesting to see. the subject to try. but we are. all right welcome back precious and way of us. my guests today welcome back to the show now what so many members in the united nations pursuing their own agenda is any kind of radical reform of the organization possible can any consensus on that be reached at all. we don't need any radical reform of the goodies ation would need some certain fine tuning yes indeed. you are good acts that this is going to this is old by all member states and they will have a say big and small in what's going on in it and they we'll need to have a voice in the whatever the forms are being proposed because it should be an intergovernmental inlet paul says. the company is the countries are the owners of these are going is ation they should have a say in in the reform process to that way of course have some incredible or exceptional cases one powerful countries actually nor get immune approval for military action and just go and do whatever they feel like doing and that for sure ruins to u.s. credibility how should the un react to those kind of situations. of course you know that there will actions out in the miscible and un was was not established by its founding fathers to ensure. and save. the peace and security in all the world and the un has the final say and should have the final say on any action in particular a military one which without un approval would be a legitimate you know exchanges between american and russian and voice in the un have often been quite heated especially lately yet you are saying that behind the scenes to diplomats are trying to be friendly to each other be professional how does that work i mean how do you go for tea with someone who was just i don't know for instance calling you a war criminal. i didn't engage yet in many of the water awards with my colleagues and i hope it will stay that way because i think that the united nations and security council in particular should be it should not be a place for futile that that it's. the spotlight the must do must their athletic skills they should be a place should be a place. which is which should which should be form its main responsibility to maintain the international peace and security i didn't have those exchanges. was very well received by my colleagues indeed outside the security council room well we know from the inside the security council whom we are all friends. we maintain very friendly relations and that's important personal relations matter. so is their professional comradery a cast feeling between diplomats dat persevered despite their respective countries relations i would i wouldn't call the cost it's i wouldn't call it that i would go to constant songs to excuse a professional commodity as i agree so like on one hand you are the one doing the face to face negotiations but at the same time all diplomats follow orders how much influence do you and your partners actually wield personally i mean if your american partner wants compromise and their wives house balls doesn't hypothetically what can you both personally do to change that. or the co co the u.s. ambassador. regulates it with with the white house you should does it make you haley wouldn't comment on that but in our case any ambassador any russian invest in the world would have quite the quite the flexible but unity in formulating the company's position. but of course the final say that suggested a little in diplomacy is with a capital but we. rather free the what we can all and most most often but the can do all the time we are in full agreement with a capital so like if you look at the recent situation the relation between us and russia have been pretty dire and you said that it's probably worse than during the cold war how do you manage to work efficiently in an atmosphere of hostility created by the current russia west standoff. it so happened unfortunately that this if you're in the council maybe is one of the few you platforms left for us and the us to quote that i hate and i said initially what i have left here that i will i will not make i'll but let the deliberations close to the i will not make peace and security has to store by letter literally shows and that's melting now with additional to no political culture and i will stay that way we we have developed a good report with nikki haley. she is committed to doing what she can and who pots to make it happen and we are trying to out there i hopefully that's their platform that is in the security council will help as many things including improving the rush by the russian american relations. you know this was a question from our viewers when they heard that we had an upcoming interview with you they wanted me to ask personally how do you manage to have a friendly relationship with your american colleague when you know the two countries are pretty much at a state of cold war. look i. never never imagined that the russian and the american people have anything like hostility towards each other it's the political situation that that is to blame but on a personal level we are all humans first of all secondly we feel sympathy towards americans and i feel that americans feel sympathy and sympathy towards russians so i have no problem in communicating personally on good terms with any american court a court ignoto of the making haiti but do you know who court exe in the mission than elsewhere so i heard you say that other countries have been also calling for an improvement of u.s. russia relations which countries are you talking about and will washington listen most importantly. many countries privately and openly say that much depends on the alibi that the little asians and it's not appropriate that solo these days. they should be improved and that will be for the best for the better of the world and not just our two countries so recently moscow says that it considers terrorists and u.s. law enforcement inspection rates on russian diplomatic mission in america a violation of diplomatic immunity president putin said that russia will go to an american court over a property rights do you think legal action can be successful here. i don't think that it's appropriate for me to comment on that common sense being made in most and i don't see anything to add to it the except that i agree that moves that were made to not only which moves but how they were made were very friendly but how do your colleagues in the united nation react to this situation because it was all over the news it was huge everyone was talking about it surely they also ha
